Older Weight Loss WOmen?

I am 48 and am getting ready to try to lose 50 lbs. I now weigh 194. I would like to see some similar participants because I am so worried that I will have saggy skin after losing weight. I want to see how people get rid of that. Older people. I think younger people can recoup better.

Thanks for the support.

I'm 43 - and have lost close to 200 lbs over the past 2 years... (with about 30 -40 or so to go)

I won't lie and say there's no sagging at all but since I don't walk around naked... it's not noticable...

Upright and walking around -you don't see the saggage - when I'm doing certain exercises (like girlie pushups, or planks, or some yoga stretches, while wearing shorts -then I see it) floating in the tub it's also noticable -it's like my skin is a size or three too big.

Is it bad? no
Is it gross? to me -yeah but I think i'm ugly no matter what...
Will it stop me from losing the rest? Hell no... I have scars all over my body -it's part of m y past, and it's made me what I am...

Losing weight slowly helps prevent some of it.... and hydration and moisturizing helps out as well... strength training (which you should be doing anyhow to ward off osteoporosis - also goes a long way... muscles and you wont' get all beefy looking, behind the skin help keep it tighter..

50lbs isn't really a lot... I don't expect you're goiong to have a problem..

Hi there! Good on ya for deciding to get yourself into shape! The sooner we do it, the better.

I am 38 and have lost 61 lbs over the last year. I am very close to my goal (within 10-15 lbs, anyway) and am happy to say I don't really have much in the way of excess skin. I do LOTS of exercise, which may help with tightening things up. I am still aware of some extra flab (can you say cottage cheese) on my thighs, and don't know if I will ever get them where I want them to be.

Best wishes on your journey! :biggrinjester: I would rather deal with a little extra skin than all of the physical & emotional pain I suffered with when I was obese.
Cheers
