OK. A weird question.

Well, I'm going to guess this is the first time this has ever been posted. :p

OK. I was at a small party with some friends. Weed was there, but I didn't plan on smoking any. My friends got me into doing it, no biggy, I've done it before, but didn't find the effects that good. Well, time past, and I was getting tired, but I couldn't go to sleep than, so I watched some World Cup.

I noticed that I was falling asleep than waking up nearly every 10 seconds, so I tried to stay awake. Soon, to my surprise, when I tried to move, I couldn't. My muscles were SPAZZZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. I kinda freaked out, I could talk, I just couldn't move my main limbs, legs, and arms. My muscles kept convulsing.

My friend is also into working out, and he said he woke up in the middle of the night, with the exact same problem.

My other friends that it was because I was nervous. But I wasn't nervous at ALL.

I'm wondering, does this have anything to do with working out?

Doesn't sound like it. You sure it was just weed? I've smoked before and that's never happened to me. How long did it last?

I had a dream like that once. I dreamed I was awake and I could not move but could see every thing around me. When I did move I realized I had been asleep. This happend to me and I had not been doing any drugs or drinking.

There is one thing I can tell you as a reformed weed head. Pot is the do nothing drug. The people who do it do a lot of nothing. If you use it much you will find yourself doing more and more of nothing all the time. If you ever come out from under it's spell you will be amazed at just how far behind your old friends, classmates and the world that did not do it have left you. Just a word to the wise from someone who has been there. You are only young once and there are no "do overs" in the real world so don't waste it.

I never had that happen to me either. I couldn't feel my legs, I thought they were alseep, but I could move everything else.

Yea. It was just weed, I'm 100% sure. I know where he got it from, his friend grows it, and I've been to that guys house, and seen it.

And thanks for the advice Greenetuckian. :)

After that I don't plan on doing it again, I didn't know what to do when it was happening.

Yeah, pot is pretty boring.

Anywho, what you had was sleep paralysis. Whether or not the pot is what brought it on, I do not know. I've had it before though and it freaked the living crap out of me. I was lying there and couldn't move. However, I was dreaming with my eyes open and I thought someone was robbing the apartment. It was terrible. I was struggling to scream and finally I was able to; causing me to snap out of it and be able to move again. Moral of the story:

It does not have to do with working out. May have to do with the pot, don't know. I personally wasn't on anything at the time. And it happens to alot of people. Some people get it regularly, some only sometimes, some once and then never again.

Calcium is right, sleep paralysis. Not an unnatural phenomena, but it does happen. Did not have to do with the pot, it's just one of those things that happen to some people and not to others. Quite the anomaly really, and it only sparks debates on separation of the mind and brain. Nothing to worry about, really unless it starts occuring often.
