Oh, the issues abound!

Sounds great. I feel that way sometimes too. If I have a day where I enjoy my food especially well....I start to feel like I may have done something wrong, but then I add up all the calories and see I did a great job. I think it stems from thinking about being on a "diet"---I just have to realize I am not on a diet...this is just how I have to eat, so I damn well better enjoy it!

I am having a hard time coming up with new recipes that I like. Can you post Em's hummis recipe and maybe a curry recipe?

Yeah, counting calories has done wonders for me. I average them over a week so that even if I do go over a bit one day, I can work it out in the end. It's so liberating to know that even though I ate 400 calories more than my goal today, those 1300 calorie days from the rest of my week balance it out and I am still under 1500 per day average this week. I can go to bed a little too full - should have stopped one fajita earlier than I did - but not feeling guilty and ashamed.

Keep up your hard work, and just keep telling yourself you don't have to be starved and deprived to eat smart and lose weight. :D

I am the same Twinmom. Yesterday I felt very bloated in the evening as I had rice cakes, cream cheese and salad and was munching sugar snap peas and baby corn, plus everything else I had eaten that day, but counting up my cals I had done alright. It doesn't seem right to be full when dieting, but I think sometimes it is what we need .... ;)

Keep up the fab work Sillygirl :)

You really shouldn't starve yourself at all. Always eat those snacks and have lighter meals and drink more water. If not, your body will start thinking it's gonna starve to death and it'll be way harder to lose any weight at all.

And as a fashion lover... I must ask... Which bag do you have your eye on?

I have decided you guys need to back up your computer files - NOW

LOL twinmom....but I so hope they follow your advice.

Sillygirl, you are doing so well!!!! And forget about that you have to be starving to lose weight mindset. Your clothes are getting lose, so what you are doing is working. You just stick with it.

Hope you have a great weekend and don't let kitty try to vaccum or anything. Could spell danger.

Hugs!!

Hello all! I just weighed myself and am so incredibly frustrated. I still weigh the same. I'm coming up on my TOM but I haven't weighed myself in so long I thought I'd show some improvement. Then Emm weighed herself and she is way down (don't want to give the number, I'll let her). I am so totally proud of her, but at the same time, if I'm honest it's discouraging because we've been doing the same thing, eating the same meals. I'm tired and frustrated and need to reassess.

Oh silly,
I'm sorry to hear about the weight sticking - but you are doing the right things, you're eating well, and moving so if it is a matter of TOM or water retention or sodium (evil, evil sodium), then that number will move!

Feeling your clothes get loose is such a great way to know that what you're doing is working!

Keep at it girl :)

TOM can bring anywhere up to 5-7lbs of extra baggage with him when he comes to stay, so don't worry. Weigh again in a week or so, and you'll see ;) Keep up the great work, and please don't get downheartened just because of stupid TOM!!

oooh. they have nice bags. Very pretty. :D I have my eye on a Coach bag but I couldn't possibly buy it. It's like $300 for a bag which I cannot justify buying. I can buy a whole chair at ikea for it.

If your TOM is coming, it could be just bloating & water retention. But if you find that you still weigh the same in 2-3 weeks... then try shaking up your routine a lil. Eating at different times you'd normally eat, less salt, more water, something like that?

See youse (great lesson in Scottish slang there), I felt like such a dafty (look there it is again) when I read this forum. I used to think you must have had some guy called Tom who came to visit you all. There I've said it!

Hope you have a good week sillygirl, I'm currently stuck at 145lbs and have been for a while now, so annoying!

Hello everyone! Had a great day Monday. Our challenge this week is to eat 6-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day. Yesterday I ate 6 servings. It's harder than I would have thought, but it forces you to come up with ways to incorporate them into your day. I think this is going to be a valuable thing. I also drank all of my water.

What I'm really proud of is that even though I was really tired and I worked until 10 we went for a walk for over an hour when I got home. I am determined that the scale will move this week. If it doesn't I may throw it out the window!! :)

I'm nervous because I've applied for a new job and I REALLY want it. So think positive thoughts for me.

Sending positive thoughts your way sillyg! Keep us posted on the job front!

And think of how many calories you'd burn if you DID throw the scale out the window - all that bending over, picking up shrards of glass ;)

You'll get that ticker moving!!

Good Luck with the job! It is very difficult to get that many servings of fruits and veggies in. You are doing an amazing job! Keep it up!

Today is going so well. We walked for about an hour and a half and just did a brutal arm workout (brutal because I'm damn weak! ). I've had 5 servings of fruits and veggies so far and am going to have a huge, yummy veggie curry for supper! Woo hoo!! I feel really strong.

Mmm. curry. I've been craving for curry myself lately. Good to hear you had a good workout and u're getting ur veggies in. :D
Here for your good work... *hands sillygirl a carrot for her good work*

If you've got a Marshalls or a TJ Maxx in your area, check out their handbag section... I bought a coach red leather bag there last year for about 75 percent off the original price.. and there was nothing at allwrong with it... :D (/me never pays retail for anything if I can help it)

You're doing awesome sillygirl-- keep doin' what ou are doing...
