Off 'N Running

Okay. I'm 187.5, which is the heaviest I've ever been. It's been a long cold winter and I haven't done any exercise in months.

At the end of May I am running 10k -- slowly. At the end of September I am running 10k -- a bit faster.

My goal through diet and exercise is to lose 47.5 lbs in 25 weeks -- which is about the end of September.

This will be my record.

Day One

Camy, thanks for your message of encouragement.

I am trying at the beginning just to avoid sugars and too many fats (no transfats). Aside from that, balanced meals. And for the first week or so, just walking rather than starting with the running.

So I managed to accomplish those goals today. I ate three sensible healthy meals and walked home from work which is about 4 km. So that was a pretty successful day.

Day 2

When I complained to a friend of mine (who maintains a normal weight) about having to face all the work of getting back into shape, he said, "Well, just think. You've got a whole new appearance to look forward to."

Now there's a positive approach!

Today was stressful but I made it through.

Day 3

Went pretty well. Cloudy and snowy and a ton at work to finish up before the long weekend. But now I'm way from my computer and my kitchen until Monday night. Hooray!

Have a great weekend!

Mary

One week

Down a pound.

Back from my weekend trip. Snow is melting, and I'm ready to start building up my distance.
