Nothing To Loose - That is the goal

Hi NL,
Doing Awesome. Keep it up. Maybe you should set a mini goal for the week to do a extra 15 min of some type of exercise for yourself. So for everyday a extra 5 min of sit-ups,push-ups, squats,etc... doing a little of something within those 5 min. and at the end of the week you would have done 35 min. of extra exercise. Just a thought. You could so do it. Before you go to bed, in the shower, cooking dinner.

Have a great day and drink your WATER

Thanks, JB! That's a good idea. I need to try something like that. I've been doing a little bit of different type of exercise every day, but just need to do more.

Ok, yesterday was pretty bad. Came home and was too tired to go riding, so hubby and I went to Outback Steakhouse instead. I had a couple of frozen stawberry ritas, 5 spicy chicken wings and french onion soup. I have no idea how much calories in all of that, but probably a lot more then I should have had for the day. That's fine though. We enjoyed ourselves and I'll be eating moderately for the rest of the week.

Today I managed to go riding, but I got tired very quickly. I still got in a good ride, but not particularly happy with the way I rode. I need to shake that stupid cold off very quickly as I need to be in top shape for the show next Saturday!

Somehow yesterday I ended up at only 1060 calories, although I was not really trying to eat light. That's ok, because Friday and Saturday were pretty high in calories, so I was happy I was able to get a low day in.

Exercise was good - I rode horse both Saturday and Sunday. I feel that I am getting more stamina with horseback riding. I am not as tired anymore after riding, and I think my body is getting used to it, and maybe burning less calories? So, I need to step it up with bike riding and strength training.

This Sunday hubby and I went to see some exercise equipment, but were pretty dissapointed, as majority of the equipment on the floor was broken, so it made it hard for us to decide what to get.

overall sounds good..you had your 'cheat day' at outback and back in the game! great idea from JB...every little bit counts! good job...

Yep, that's the way to go! :) Keeping my fingers crossed on feeling better this week, so I can do some more strength training. Planning that for tonight along with bike riding and rope skipping. Also, I think I would like to average about 1300 cals this week, as I was eating pretty high last several weeks. I would prefer not to wait another month to see my weight go down. :) I think if I alternate between 1200 -1300 cal weeks and 1400 calorie weeks, it would not allow my metabolism to drop, and yet will help with having more of a calorie deficit. I can't wait to see 130!

I am finally starting getting compliments on weight loss, or people must notice :)

girlfriend you are so close that is awsome keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!

Ok, yesterday calories were good - about 1200.

Exercise was not as great. I got caught up in my sewing project, and missed the time I was supposed to exercise. Felt kinda dissappointed with myself, but I have made new decision: I am committing to doing strength training exercises in the morning every day, 5 days a week.

It is easier to get up in the morning and exercise rather then tear myself away from whatever I'm trying to accomplish at night. Plus, it is nearly impossible to make myself do something I don't really like doing while I am doing something else that I really want to do. And scheduling time does not really work, because not only I am always behind, but like yesterday, I was caught up in a fun activity (sewing project) and I really wanted to finish it before going to bed, way more then I wanted to exercise. So, decision is made. Strength training in the morning.

BTW, i did nice 20 min of calisthenics this morning. It was really good, and I feel my muscles tired this am.

So I missed out on cardio yesterday, but its ok, because I have another riding lesson today(yeah!), so I will get good doze of exercise.

This morning I made a trip to starbucks with a co-worker (yes, bad, I know). I had small skim latte and some pastry, which did not look too bad, but is probably pretty high in cals. But, I knew enough to stay away from scones!!! :)

soooo, did you do your strenght training htis morning? i see calistenics *yeah* but when is that part starting? and that makes sense, btw, as everyone is different and needs to figure out WHEN they can get it done...b/c it is needed! :)

Yes, I did my strength training this morning. I call it calisthenics because the stuff I do are variations of squats/pushups/crunches/various leg lifts and a bit of weights(the weights are very light!)

Skyler, I like your signature by the way!

Yeah, I feel pretty good about my decision, because I finally have a resolution for a problem, and I'm not torturing myself with making myself exercise at the worst time possible. Also, cardio is much simpler to fit into evening, because I can go to bed 15-30 mins after cardio is done, but the strength training will keep me up much longer.

You Are Doing Awsome Have I Told Ya Lately How Proud I Am Of You? Welll I Am Soooooooooooooooooooooo Prouddddddddddddddddddddddd Offffffffffffffffffffffffff Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Thank you, thank you, thank you Red. (Blushing). This forum and support does really help. :)

My legs are so sore today from squats yesterday(I can barely walk, and I only did 40), so I concentrated my exercise this morning on arms, butt and abs, and did only 10 mins instead of 20, so I can let my body recover a bit.

Drinking my protein powder.

I have not counted my calories for yesterday yet, but they were pretty high as I went to McDs of all places for dinner. I'll update this post when I have the number.

Riding yesterday was good. I was on the horse for almost an hour, but I did not feel like we've done that much, because I was not that tired. I'm pretty happy about that - I'm getting stamina, yeah!

My weight went down to 132.5 today - that's my new low, however, I'm pretty sure its all water, because my fat % went up. Still, nice to see a new low. Hopefully I'll get there soon.

Ok, update after I put everything into fitday for yesterday. I ate 1800 cals (yuck!), but I also burned 1800 cals (supposedly) with all the exercise. So I guess all in all it was not too bad.

Today I'm shooting for about 1300, and will try to keep around there for the rest of the week.

good job on doing some strength training even though you had sore legs. smart to focus on different areas every other day anyways. WOW, 132.5!! even if it is water, that is awesome. i have officially reached another plateau, i believe but we'll see....that is so great! that means you are getting there!!

Yeah, you know I think I hit a plateau every time I drop weight. :) I feel like I drop a pound and have to wait for a month before next weight change. :O But I'm ok with that as long as I'm dropping inches at the same time. Once you get close to your goal, it takes longer to shed pounds, but I believe that each lb is translated into more inches lost. I think it was SkinnyKate who compared weight loss process with a roll of paper towels, which I thought was very appropriate. :)

Yes, its always nice to hit a new low, even if its just water... Its like a promise that lower weight is to come soon... In my case it takes about 2 weeks, but it is coming!!! LOL.

i agree...you are doing well....we are both for sure "slow losers" but better than gaining or not losing at all!!! i have the same thing all the sudden, i drop a few pounds that have been holding on for dear life the past few weeks...it is odd but you are right it is much harder/slower as you get closer to goal weight and yes, i agree that inches and how you fit and FEEL in your clothes are the most important...

so.........exercise is the key!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you all.

Yesterday ended up at almost 1400 cals (could not stop myself from having a little snack in the evening).

Walked just over a mile during lunch, so that was good.

Today I just could not wake up in time to do strength training, plus I felt that needed to give body a rest, but I'll be back on the wagon tomorrow! Today will have to be my rest day, as I have absolutely no time to exercise after work, and on top of that I decided to wear heels and skirt to work, so no walking for me either. I should have threw sneakers in my car, but I just did not think of that at 6 oclock in the morning. I have not worn a skirt in almost 2 years! Not only I could fit into my older, smaller skits, but I actually look half way decent in them! I am looking forward to wearing them more this summer.

Good part about yesterday - after searching around for a home gym and attempting to try out them in stores, we finally decided to get Bowflex. The reason for that is because this piece of equipment was consistantly working fairly well in several stores, and we liked the exercises it offeres. We also looked at NordicTrack and Wielder's several gyms, but NordicTrack was always broken, and so was Wielder. Based on that we concluded that they break fairly easily, and if Bowflex can survive being a floor model, it is probably more reliable. Also the action seemed to be the smoother then others... I hope we did not make the wrong choice. :)

Its supposed to come in a week, and we're pretty excited. I am totally running out of exercises and weights, so it will be really good for me, and of course for my husband! Watch out all, cause I'm going to be super toned!
:)

Did 10 min of strength training this morning.
Calories yesterday - 1600

Ok, I kinda need to vent this morning. I am annoyed with myself for letting myself eat so much yesterday. I don't know what happened to staying around 1300 calories. It really all began Wednesday when I had to miss my chiropractor appointment and squeeze it in yesterday between work and sewing class. That made me late to the class and I had to get dinner at the shopping center where I was. Well, they only had a deli with Gyros, which I love, and could not resist getting one, but they are like 600 calories, and I could not resist baklava either!!! Ahrrrr! I should have eaten only half of it, but I just could not stop. And I am basically sabotaging my weight loss progress.

The average calories for the week are still 1400 so far, so I have to keep it on the low side for the next coulple of days. Seems like when I let go of the reins even just a little bit, I start going crazy with the food, and I need to buckle down some.
