No More Excuses, I'm going to do this!

MAN! I had a totally awesome post all written out and I accidentally hit a button that sent me to another page, thus deleting everything! ARGH!

So now everyone is just getting the jist of what I said!

Thanks for the encouragement Luz! I haven't done any push ups in a few weeks and the pain has completely went away. I'll be starting up again soon and will be sure to wear my brace. Hopefully the pain doesn't return.

I found out the site where I'm working has a gym! I'll be starting to go after work every night, which means I'll be working out 5 days a week. AWESOME! It'll be so great to get back into a gym. I know with how I've been doing with weight loss has been great with nothing other than walking the dog sometimes, but this will give me a much needed boost as well as let me de-stress after a long day of work.

Work is going great. The post I'm at will be hectic, but I know I can handle it. I'm training thru Wednesday and then I'll be on my own on Thursday so I'll be trying to learn as much as possible in the next two days.

Hope everyone is having a good start to the week! :)

ASo happy for you Munch! I am sure that gym is getting ready for a work out! I'm seeing a fitter thinner Mrs Munch coming towards us!
Good job!

Hahaha! Thank Scbibhouse. It turns out I will have to pay for it. It will be $25/ month, but that is still a good deal for a gym. Not to mention the convenience of it being at work. I was debating whether to get it since it would cost me, but decided that since my new job keeps me sitting at a desk for nearly 8 hours, I deemed it a good investment. Don't want to start packing pounds back on due to a lack of exercise!

Signed up at the gym at work as planned. Paid my dues, worked my shift then stopped into the gym once I was done for the night. I was the only one in there which was great. Got to pick my own channel! I did 15 minutes on the elliptical. My knee has been hurting really bad the last two days so I wanted to go easy. To be honest, my knee felt great while on the elliptical. The movement felt nice. Now it's back to hurting again though. I think I'm having an arthritis flare up, possibly due to the changing temperature. After I was finished on the elliptical I did 3 minutes on the rowing machine. Then some stretching and then headed home. I'm easing in to this and of course taking it easy due to my knee issue. So far so good. :)

Yeah, in comparison to others it is pretty cheap. Plus the lady who runs it said I probably won't even pay it every month, but like I said, even if I have to it's totally worth it.

My knee is still giving me some problems. Can't wait to get back on the elliptical tonight. It felt great last night. However, my knee is sore again today. I'm hoping it gets better soon, it's tough doing anything when your knee hurts. : /

Luckily my supervisor is going to get me away from my desk some during my shifts by allowing me to do patrols. This will help I hope.

Hey Munch,

I think "pain from exercise" is going around right now..Ive got a sore foot, you have a sore knee...bummer! Take it easy and listen to your body...your mind will tell you one thing...but we have to learn to listen to our body too...now, I just have to practice what I preach! Enjoy being able to choose your own channel and your new job!

That's some good words of wisdom, but the problem is the pain hasn't been from exercise. My knee has just been hurting, period. Yesterday was my first trip to the gym and basically doing any activity other than my walks here and there. The exercise felt really good for it, but today it was sore just like it had been. I'm gonna keep going to the gym because I'm pretty sure this is just my arthritis having a flare up.

Still experiencing the dull ache in my left knee. The good news is that we just got our health insurance cards in the mail, so hopefully very soon I'll be going to the doctor to get it checked out. I'm going to continue with my exercise as it doesn't seem to be making the pain any worse. In fact, like I said, it actually feels really good while I'm on the elliptical.

I had a terrible food day yesterday, but am doing great today.

So far I've had some chicken nuggets and mac an cheese-lunch

turkey sandwhich and multigrain pringles and star crunch-dinner

and after I get home tonight after my workout I'll have a small apple.

We definitely need to get me some good post workout snacks for when I get home at night. I need something, but without something bought specifically for that rease, I just raid the whole fridge. I always get ravenous after my workouts, so this is something I have to learn to overcome! I'll have to grab my snack and run upstairs so I won't be tempted!

I weighed myself today and say 154.5lbs. A 4.5 lb increase from a few days ago, so I'm going to take it with a grain of salt. SALT, that may be my problem! I've been trying to drink a lot of water so hopefully that will fix that problem.

Glad tomorrow is Friday. We're heading home for the weekend and plan to have a lot of fun. I'm going to stick to my smaller portions, but still enjoy all the things I love. Hope everyone has a great Friday! :)

Hey Munch,

I won't be on here much over the next week, so I wanted to pop in and say hello and reassure you that from my recent experience (now that I am weighing more often) that weight goes up and down...just today, I weighed 2 times within 3 hours of each other and there was a pound difference...a full pound...what's up with that? And I didn't eat anything in between...I think it must be within the margin of error of the scale! If course I chose the lower one!

Hope you knee is better soon and do get it checked out.. you might want to look at your diet...do you notice anything different you eat when you have the knee ache? The reason I bring that up is that my husband suffers from gouty arthritis, and over here, someone told him not to eat seafood...and sure enough, he has found that everytime he eats seafood (any kind) his toe or his knee really flares up...it's probably not your case, but just thought I'd share.

Have a great weekend...and do get some of those healthy snacks...apples are great this time of year! Try the old saying "an apple a day keeps the Dr away"...what's to lose?!

Good choices to you!

Wow, didn't realize it had been so long since I updated.

Thank scbibhouse for the encouragement. I'm trying not to put too much thought into numbers at all. I can tell my clothes fit way better and that's good enough for me. I really am just checking it to make sure I don't have any big gains.

So I've been to the gym 4 days a week for two weeks. I don't go on the weekend and then there's usually a day during the week when I don't go. This is huge for me as I usually stop going after a week. BUT I've grown to love my 3-45 minute gym time after work. It's relaxing and makes me feel good.

Sorry for a short update!

Yay for gym! I would be a total nutcase if I didn't get to let steam off 3 times a week haha. Glad you're enjoying it, that's half the battle won!!

It really is. I love it. I'm kinda sad because I have an interview for a new job and I know the whole gym thing will stop. Think I might actually have to get a regular membership somewhere because I don't want to go back to not exercising.

Hey Munch,

I think you will find that the regular exercise will help you mentally as well as physically...so when looking at the new job and you compare with your existing one..don't forget the cost of the gym membership..and this is "net" after taxes! You might be better off staying where you are...just a thought!
