I'm tired of all this up & downs.

I'm tired of being tired. I

I'm tired of excuses, I'm tired of everything is against my mission: To be on shape, to be healthy.

I'm gonna make it real this time.

It's a commitment to myself, to my little boy (he's 2 y/o and I don't want to be a tired & sick mommy), to all my family. It's enough!

Day #1

Woke up kinda late= 7:00 am. I should wake up earlier so I can do more exercises in the morning. I have read is better to work out in the morning because you burn more calories? Is this right? :O

Well, today's breakfast was cereal (Kashi Hear to Heart) + skim milk. Nothing else. Didn't have too much time to do the groeceries during the weekend.

For today's lunch, I plan to have gilled fish & vegetables. We have a buffet on our office, so you can take whatever you want from a variety of stuff.

Dinner's protein shake.

And I think that's all. :)
I don't count calories or weight my food, I just want to eat healthier and take control of portions.

Welcome to day 1 and the forums.

On the workout question, I've heard a mix of opinions as to whether or not an early morning/late at night or middle of the day is best for working out and have also heard that it is more of a question of if you work out rather than when. Probably a lot more of it has to do with when it would best fit your mood and schedule to make it easier for you to commit to the workouts.

The other thing I have heard a few times is that eating before/after a workout can also be important, no huge intake is required getting a little protein after a workout is supposed to be good for rebuilding muscles.

Hey Feelinggooder!

Thank you very much for your comment. I was reading your diary as well. It's amazing how much you have lost in just a little time.

What are you doing? Can you share it with me?

I'm going to join the gym this week, and I hope I can make it till the final.

It's a life style change, not just losing weight for X time.

Sadly my secret to losing the first 15 lbs consisted mainly of putting on 10 lbs over Christmas...

The rest of the weight loss is due mainly to tightening up on portion control, cutting down on the snacking and 3000-4000 calories buffets that use to a weekly event and getting in a bit of cardio every day.

Hahaha! I think it happened the same to me. I gained 10 lbs during Christmas off. I dropped them and I'm back on the road.

:) It's gonna be great to read you through your journal to a better you.

Let's keep n' touch!

DAy #1 is done.

Not bad as I though it could be.

I was able to walk for 30 minutes (it is TOO much for me, LoL). I know it's not too much, yet, but I will increase it gradually.

Tomorrow, I will start with some "wake up" cardio fro 30 minutes.

:)

Good start kiddo!!

Get a plan and go with it!!!

Find the right mix of exercise and healthy food that works for you.

Got any short or long term goals yet?

Both are good motivators

:iagree: with Brawny, setting targets in terms of timelines and goals has been a big help keeping me focused. I've tried a couple times before without setting anything specific and I found it became pretty easy to skip a day or make some slightly less horrible meal decisions that were still really bad. Having something to work towards this time has given me some additional focus and a has provided me with something to measure my progress towards.

You'll get a chance to refine your goals as you go along but starting out with a rough idea where you're trying to get to and sharing it with others can help provide motivation.
