Nightmare

HI everyone,

I've been trying to tone my legs for the Summer, mostly by doing high resistance cycling on the exercise bike. I also generally follow a healthy diet. I'm 22, slim, about 107 pounds and 5'5. In general, I'm very happy with my body shape, however my problem is that I seem to collect fat at the top of my thigh, underneath my ass. Its not even toned atall, and it has little folds in. I'm not sure if these folds are cellulite or just the fat. I really cant seem to tighten it up and its making me feel very insecure! I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice to tone this area up, or maybe i need to work more on lifting my bum and straightening the thigh out!?

Not to minimize your situation, but from the stats you provide... it can't be that bad :)

I'm older, taller and weigh more than you. If you're 5'5" and 107 pounds.... that's tiny. What is your body fat percentage? Do you know it or can you get it tested?

Since you don't really state your exact menu or routine, I would suggest you perform squats, lunges, etc to strengthen the leg/lower body muscles. However you cannot spot reduce (meaning that leg exercises do NOT make leg fat go away).

I am hesitant to say you cannot spot reduce so you need to reduce overall body fat because you are already so little. Without more specific info from you... it's hard to provide a clearer answer.

My gut feeling says you are eating too little, not going hard enough on the weights and over doing cardio. But that's just my gut.
 
Thanks, yeah I really don't want to carry on losing weight because I am underweight as it is! I really just want o firm up.

Although your image is ultimately up to you to judge, could it be worse than it actually is? You may look perfectly fine. I know I get crazy about little stuff sometimes.

Try doing some lower body exercises such as squats, lunges, and leg curls for your hamstrings.
