Hello, My name is Nick. Well 2 years ago i weighed 297l lbs. I'm now at around 230 lbs. I'm really struggling to lose more weight but it's coming off slowly. My only brother is getting married April 1st, 2009. I'd like to be 200 lbs by then and really shock everyone. People have told me that if i get to 200 i won't look right, but when i look at my body i see alot of fat that needs to go. Idealy i would like to lose 30 lbs of fat and gain 10 lbs of muscle, but i don't think i can gain that much muscle in such a short time, maybe i can. Should be exciting to see how i do. Good luck achieving your goals. What exercise are you doing and how is your diet ?
 
Good job on the initial 67lb loss! Another 30lbs should be doable by April 1st, with hard work and proper nutrition. Look forward to reading your journey :)
 
I'm weight lifting 3 days a week and doing cardio 4 times per week. as far as cardio i usually do 30 min on the eliptical machine and half the time i will run a mile.( 10 min) More of a job i guess. lol. as far as my diet i try to keep it around 2600 calories per day. I don't use oil or eat butter. Basically the only fat i get is from meat and dressings. I only eat light ceasar ocassionally. I try to get alot of protein and carbs on my workout days. I usually eat very light for breakfast and lunch followed by a good sized dinner. that seems to be easiest for me to keep it at 2600 cal/day.
 
As for my weight lifting routine. I usually start off with bench, incline and decline bench. Then military press. right now i'm just doin 3 sets of 10. after that i work on my triceps, scull crushers etc. Biceps are next. sitting curls 3x10, incline curl 2x10 then Standing hammer curls 3x10. after that i do front raises and side raises. next i do flys on the cables. After that i do lat pull down 3x10 and sitting row 3x10. then i do front and rear flys on machine.. I would like to do more exercises but after i do all that it's usually over an hour, 1:15 usually. I've heard 45 min is best to lift but i have had good results with my routine. in a week or 2 i will be changing it slightly. I have been thinging of pyramiding most of my exercises, I would love to hear your advise on any of this. you obviously know what your talking about and you don't seem like a knowitall like some people on here. You have good muscle coverage for the upper body

I would suggest less exercises for the biceps and add some leg work into your workout in the form of squats and also add some deadlifts

you could also swap the incline Press for incline DB press as a super set after your flat bench.
 
Thanks for the advise. Usually after a month or so i switch my benches to all dumbells. And yeah i know i need to do legs. the only reason i don't is because of Time. But thats a good idea to cut down somewhere to add just a couple leg workouts. I like that idea. I don't know about giving up some bicep workouts though. I love the way it feels. ALthough reluctantly i do try to do more tricep that bicep. Since that will make my arms look bigger. I think people don't know their tricep is MUCH larger than their bicep. ANd if they did it's still more fun to work on biceps. lol. for me at least.
 
So i'ts like 2:30am and i'm still awake, I have so much to do tomorrow. Working out, shopping and work at five oclock. My decicion to stay up till 5am and then go to the gym might not be the best idea but every 3 months or so this happens. You'd think after all the turkey i would be tired. haha. Today i had a healthy lunch, side salad with very little dressing, very little. But for dinner i ate alot of turkey, gravy, and carbs. Not good!!!! At least i skipped the pie. I plan to eat a protein bar and my cereal+yogurt around 8am after my workout. That =500 calories. some fruit and a sandwich for lunch= 350 calorie, which leaves me 1750 for dinner. Dinner will be packed with carbs and protein + a little veggies, whatever i can queeze into 1750 calories or so. Gotta get those carbs to aid in building my muscles. I plan on doing 40 minutes of cardio today as well.
 
I understand the enjoyment of working some muscles more than others, I love working triceps but should spend more time deadlifting lol
 
Well today was a pretty good day. I ate a protien bar(200 calories), sanwich( meat and mustard) 170 calories. An apple, banana. (about 200 calories)Dinner was beef stir-fry and rice. I'm estimating it at 1200 calories. And i just ate some oatmeal with raisins. 300 calories. So that puts me really close to 2000 calories. I work in a restaurant and i did much on some turkey during my shift as well as 3-4 fries. haha. At most it was 300 calories. It was good turkey. So it was a successfull day. Total calorie intake around 2300. I also did workout from 5-8. It was a GREAT workout. Lifted for 80 minutes, eliptical for 30 min. Didn't make the full mile on the treadmill. Only .6 Mile. I was beat by then. And of course i hit up the sauna, pool and hot tub. Great news!!!!!!!!!!! After my workout i weighed in at 228!!!!!!!! Lost 2 lbs since last weigh in.
 
Today was an Ok day. In the morning i ate cereal and yogurt,300 cal. For a snack i had a banana. and for lunch i had a protein bar, banana and orange. Right there i'm at 900 calories. What a great start. After working from 7-7 i got home and was in no mood or shape to cook dinner. My roomate ordered pizza and the rest is history. Half a pizza and some buffalo wings, OMG it was bad. And i feel bad about it. After googleing it i found out i just ate about 2000 calories. Just discusting! My total calorie intake for the day is 3200. With isn't that bad. I wouldn't gain weight from that. But it was too big off a meal and too much fat. I will make sure tomorrow that i get very little fat and ALL my meal are health as they can be. Can't wait till monday so i can go to the gym!!!!
 
well i haven't posted in a couple days. But i'm going very well. My calorie intake has been at or under 2600. My workouts have also been good. Not a whole lot going on right now, but i am down to 227 which i'm pretty happy about. Can't wait till i hit 220!!!!!!!!!!
 
well i haven't been on in a few days. Seems there is alot going on. lol. WIth me i am down to 227. But that was after a day of eating. I usually wiegh myself after my morning workout so i will post my new wieght tomorrow morning. I've been eating pretty good and keeping my calories down. Unfortunately most of my calories have been comsumed at night. I ussually eat a 300-400 calorie breakfast and have a sandwich or meal relplacement bar for lunch and then comsume a large dinner. Not the best. I will try to space out my calories better through out the day and post my results.
 
well the past few days have been good. I"m not eating great but i'm eating good. i've cut out most of the fat. most the fat i get is from meat but i eat very lean meat, chicken and sometimes venison. I'm down to 225 which is great and i can't wait till i wake up tomorrow so i can go to the gym. At this point i really wanna see results and would love to lose a pound every 3 days but i don't really see that happening. It's hard to work so hard for an entire week and barely see your weight drop but i guess i'm just anxious to get below 220 for the first time since i was 12 years old. I'ts been almost 13 years, wow! I really just want to lose fat on mu stomach, love handles and tits. Those arethe 3 big problem areas. other than that i look great, haha. Seems like nobody is reading my journal but i'm going to continue to write so i can keep on track. I am supprised that smart ass Steve hasn't wrote anything on here. haha.
 
well i haven't posted in a while but i am glad to say i weighed in just under 223, I'm inching along. the past couple days haven't been very good eating. seems i've been eating great up till dinner and then i really pig out, but i'm working hard and the wieght is coming off just need to step it up a little bit and get more focused on the big picture. Only time will tell what will happen, but i'm pretty confident about it all.
 
well it's monday. About to go to the gym in a couple hours. It will be interesting to see where my wieight is at after a couple days of not so good eating. Probably the same i hope. Won't be working my legs today though, i worked them on saturday pretty hard and i haven't for a long time. I could barely sit down to take a crap. LMAO. They are still pretty damn sore. But that will disapate with time.
 
well it's been 2 weeks since my last entry. My weight has been up and down in the last 2 weeks. I was down to 223 one mornign and then 226 the next week. I think right now i am about 224 but i will find out in the moring when i hit the gym. Well the goal is lose 30 pounds in 5 months so i guess i'm on track. 6 lbs a month. I should be at 218 by my birthday. jan 26. Hopefully less than that. My goal is215 by my b-day. going out of town ice fishing till christmas but i will report my weight this friday. lets hope it's 222.
