Newbie here! is this a good routine.

Hey i'm 15 years old and weight 135pound and i am 5'9.
i have been hitting the gym for 4 months now and the first 2 1/2 months i have saw result but then after that i havent, i asked one of my friend who was been bodybuilding for over 3 years and he said that i worked out my chest and arms to much, and didnt rest them.
so then he gave me this routine and told me that i should eat a lot.

is this routine good?
Monday - Chest, Triceps
Tuesday - Back, Biceps, Abs
Wednesday -Cardio 20 min or maybe less, push ups(so i can increase my amount of push ups)
Thursday - Shoulders, Legs
Friday - Biceps, Triceps, Abs
Saturday - off
Sunday - off

and how long should i stay at the gym.?

It looks like you are still doing a lot of arm exercises when you are working them anyway with chest and back. What about 3 full body workouts a week? I did this routine for a month and really liked it. Just make sure you lift heavy and switch the exercise each time (like Monday- deadlift, Wedn- Squat, Friday- lunges). You can also do some cardio on either Tues or Thurs as well as abs. What do you think of something like this?

Monday
Legs
Chest
Back
Tri's

Wednesday
Legs
Calve Raises
Back
Shoulders

Friday
Legs
Chest
Back
Bi's

No. At 15 you have no business isolating anything. You ned a good solid base before you worry about anything else.

Full body 3 times a week.

Check out "Starting Strength". It will do you wonders.

No... you would be doing for example:

3-4 sets of 10 each

Monday
Squats
BB Flat chest press
Pull ups
BB lying tricep extention

Wednesday
Deadlifts
Seated military shoulder press
Calf raises
Bent over one arm DB row

Friday
Lunges or step ups
Push ups
Seated row
Bicep curls

Everytime you do a back or chest exercise you are working your bi's and tri's secondary...

more legs

Hey there!
I agree with wait what on the arms. It seems like a good start, but I noticed that you have chest and tri one day and then biceps and triceps another day. This is a lot of arms, and your arms probably need a rest. Your leg muscles are the largest and most used muscles in the body so I would set aside a day just for those, then do arms once a week. Working your legs will also burn the most body fat since they are the largest muscles. This will boost the metabolism.

Have a great day!

For the love of GOD....NO!

Quit pimping these body part splts to every newbie that walks in the door!

FULL BODY - 3 DAYS A WEEK! Most people have no need for BP splits. A 15 year old just getting started sure as **** has no business doing splits.

Hi from England.

I agree tha splits at your age is crazy. Certainly dont need to do that.

Hate to say it but at your age you may struggle to build anyway. Dont compare yourself with older guys. I started (a LONG time ago) when I was about 14, and made no progress. As soon as the old hormones kicked in around 16-18, I was off and flying. Dont get too down.

In the UK, under 16s can't even use weights in a gym......but then again, I live in a nanny state!

Hang in there and go whole body. I'd try a 3 times one week, 4 the next to give you a day off between each session. Change the movements every 4-6 weeks too.

Good luck from an old man,

Steve
