I had laborred breathing too and thats why I started losing weight, plus Christmas Day 2006 I looked so horrendous at 320 pounds... so it was time to take it in ...and my doctor said I have metabolic syndrome and diebeties two because of my weight and I have PCOS so I can get cancer if I am weight heavy ... so all good reason

Congrats!! on quitting smoking! ITs still good you did it for your kids, because in the end you did it for you, so you will be around for a very long time to see them grow and get married... My grandmother died of emphazema ..it was very sad ..she died choking on the black phlem in her throat ... so good on you for taking that step ..
and taking the weight loss step is a BIG step! It takes a lot to look yourself in the mirror and say its time!! but my breathing was so labored .. I couldnt walk up a two flight case of steps that were so small... I started taking the elevator to she second floor ..not good!!

So you can do this ..now its too easy for me to walk ... fast .. I don't lose breath and now jogging is starting to get the heart beat up and you will reach the point where you breathing will be perfect and your health will be excellent ..do this for your kids ...but do this for you!!

even ten minutes a day is good to start if thats all you can do .. go up and down your stairs ..start that way ...start by parking at the end of a parking lot and walking into the grocery store ..its the little steps ..which turn into bigger steps ...

Yeah didn't even know my breathing was labored. I have always had to scoot around, to keep up with everybody. I remember at 290 my feet hurting really bad when I walked barefoot. But that's been about 6 years since I went through that. That was a rough time. I'm sure as I loose weight I'll notice the difference. My big thing is I need to learn how to care. I was really happy when I hit the 196 mark, oh like 5 years ago, but then I stoped caring and well here I am. I have never ever done an excersize regiment, so maybe thats the key... Well it will be a journey! Thanks again

Wow! I got to commend you on raising 5 kids, especially since you were so young. That's amazing and just shows how strong of a person you are!

Anyway, as you can see from my ticker we are starting from the same weight range. I've just barely moved from 255 to 253.5 the other day.

Well, I think this is the right place for you! There are so many people here in this thread and forum that will help cheer you up when you get down and provide you with inspiration and all that good motivational stuff.

Like many people here, myself included, most of us have diaries and I recommend you get one too. It's a good way to see how far you've come. Take Nataliejo for instance, her diary is so inspiring and by reading where she began and where she is now just motivates me more and helps me realize that it might be hard sometimes, but I can do this.

Yes it must have been all that stress Kevi. I used to Stress eat and hopefully when I start school up in September I don't stress eat through out the year! I wont .. I lost so much weight! Who wants to gain it back!

V thats so nice of you to say!!! Wow!! I have never heard anyone really tell me that, well tell someone else. I really am happy I have come down in so much weight. I was really upset at 320 .. oh I lost that pound I had gained over the week. Lets hope I make a nice weigh in on Monday!! Whoot Whoot!

So I have lost that infamous one pound ...lol No more binging either. I have been making sure to watch my content and how much yesterday and today so far. I kind of didn't eat much dinner actually last night ..only two small pieces of ham and some vegetable and couple bites of sweet potato .. I felt full after that ..lol I dont know ..than I came down later for one suger free jello... did good last night ... did really good ...now I just have to make sure I balance my meals out more...
I am going to go make two over easy eggs and one or two slices of little pieces of ham ..

I also got deliciously thick and never really thought much about it. Like you, guys are still crazy about me even though i am plump, but I do not like the attention at all. I remember one time this guy was trying to talk to me and i literally ran from him :rotflmao: My sister later told me he asked her "what's wrong with your friend?" :p Ahdunno, I'm not shy at all but I like when they stay away from me.

You sound to me like a Supermom...I love supermoms :D But yet you are so much more. In my opinion you are an incredible woman and I commend you on being able to quit smoking at a time like this. I am sorry to hear that you and your husband are separated and I truly hope that things work out the best for the both of you. :grouphug: It's not easy everyday, but the sun will shine again, the light within and the light without. I have confidence in you, and if you have read my posts, you will see that I am pretty direct and I do not say things I do not mean.

I do not have any children yet, but I have flirted around with the idea of having 5 :-D I like the idea of playing with them and having them climb and crawl all over me until I am exhausted LOL One of my friends went out of the country and had me take care of her boys.... I was 26 at the time and they were 18 and 19 LOOOLOLOL I loved it. I was cleaning and cooking for them and they were hugging me like i was their mom and telling me their problems. LOL too funny. They also took the car one night when they thought i was sleeping, but that's another story ;)

I do not think there is anything wrong with your children inspiring change in your life, it is part of the reason you are a good mom, but I totally understand what you mean about doing things for the benefit of yourself. I have spent most of my life taking care of others and neglecting everything about myself and just started to live for myself a little more.

It has only been very recent that I have been feeling balanced and patient with myself. I am not rushing my weight loss anymore and I accept that it will take some time to lose it. I am 276 with a quite small body frame...people always guess my weight at 170. I am aiming for 135 even though it is above the recommended weight for me.

This thread is full of wonderful people with refreshing perspectives on life. I was a little down last week when I ate some fast food and really with the help of the good people on this thread I was able to bounce back. So welcome to our cool crew :coolgleamA: Feel free to share your ideas and your journey with us...I love being a part of success:hurray: Oh and don't worry about the spelling, English is not even my first language, Typo is ;-)

Ali I am the same way about purses...I can only buy them if i love them, but that day I bought that purse because it was the best one there and i wanted to buy a purse lololol Definitely take pictures of yourself in the red dress. Model! lol I take so many pictures of myself its crazy. On Sunday I took over 60 pictures ZOMG there ought to be a law. I looked back over them and I like only 5 LOL but as I was taking them, I was thinking each one was so good. I really need some serious help LOL

Kevi Don't worry too much about the weight gain, with the way you exercise I do not think it stands a chance to remain on you lol

Wow! Today is so nice! It's 6:30 am, Mountain Time (I think that's what Az is) and it's already 50degrees, but feels a bit higher. It's suppose to get to 84 today! Boy I do love Spring. Except now all the bugs are starting to come into our house. The pest controll guy sprayed maybe a week ago and we're already getting baby Wolf Spiders in our house! Thank goodness they are the male ones... those female Wolf Spiders are a force to reckon with. Oh, and the other day I seen a flying cockroach looking thingy flying around our front door! Eeewww... darn me living in the desert.

So what's the verdict on deit soda? Around 6 months ago I was a regular soda holick, but since switched to deit.

I have decided once joining this board, to cut down to 1 cup a day, and just drink water, well and have my coffe in the morning.

I heard about the calorie chart sight. So thought I'd check it out. I am totaly never ever going to be one of those calorie obsesed people, I just quit smokeing , I do not need to obsese about something new. Anyway, I thought I better know where I'm at, at least, just a gadge, but some things conserned me.

#1 deit soda is counted as if it's water, I know when I was on Jenny creg years ago, they said it was bad to have more then one a day due to the effect it has with helping retain water weight.

#2 ok, now I'm a big girl obviously, (I have to start admiting this to myself for real) .... I'M soooo confused.... I told you all that I have battled with actually eating, in the last few months I have forced myself to eat three meals a day. And even encouraged myself to have snacks. Something I couldn't do, or at least wouldn't think about. (I think just to busy with the kids?) Ok, so yesterday, all I did different with my eating is, had one soda with dinner (didn't even finish it, don't know why), and I didn't have a late night snack.

So on the sight I put in everything I ate in the day, which to me looked like a whole lot. I had a healthy helping of pasta last night with meat sause. Ok so my total caloric intake, around 1800....

Now I'm concerned... For the weight I have on me, wouldn't it take more then that to sustain my weight? ON avarage, before I started here a couple days ago I probably was at just under 2000 calories a day.

I'm just wondering what I should do? Is it just a matter of excercising for me? Do you think my body really has been thinking it's been starving all of these years, cause before 4 months ago, I was only eating like one meal a day, but drinking a lot of soda, and coffe....

I don't know, I'm just trying to figure out what my problem actually is, so I can solve it. I think drasticly cuting more caloris, would be a bad idea in my sitch, am I wrong?

*in general trying to move around more
I have a stair climber thing, and also a stationary bike that were just dust colecters untill now. I can NOT do long intervules of this, 5 min each and my legs are shakeing... (should I push harder?)

I'm allso using little weights, and doing the weight lifting for like 10 min.. Not sure what that will do, but my arms have a major wadle on them, and I figure something is better then nothing, I hope!

So as you see I'm a bit confused, any words of insight or wisdom is wounderful, I need to understand what my problem is, allso don't mind getting kicked in the butt, if I'm doing something wrong. I'm clay mold me! (into a thinner me, lol)

I drink a couple drinks of Zero cola a day and sometimes one cola ..
Technically peeps says you are not supposed to drink it, but I do it because I dont want to binge later .. I stop drinking it for three to four weeks and than by one or two bottles and drink them and than stop for another three to four weeks ..I would say one cup or two cups of diet coke should be fine ..but no more .. I am going to be cutting it out a little more myself .. I have only had one cup today and thats going to be it ..

as far as obsessing over calories .. I dont count the calories either lol I just dont ..am not able to .. I am reading a food addict book and it says you can eat most things, but in moderation ..

I binge ..which I am having a hard time stopping ..but I am just need to eat three meals a day and some snacks and I wont binge ..

but I would definitely make sure you eat three meals a day and if you want snacks ...
the reason being ..that yes your body will go into starvation mode and your metabolism will move slower .. if you read the sticky threads they will give you a lot ..and I mean a lot of info about all this ...

but any other questions ..just shoot them our way and we might be able to answer ...

So eat and yes exercise would be good ..and your doing great! I started with just walking for ten minutes outside ..its all I could do and eventually I got used to it and pushed it five minutes high and than another five mintues and so forth ..
I have just started walking again and I walk most days twenty minutes ...

but I am trying to increase it to 25 minutes and by April or before ..to thirty minutes ... its tuff to get motivation once in a while ..
