New Year, New Me!

I'm gonna skip the big long intro as most of you already know me. But I have committed to this journey once and for all. I've gotten to the point where the food is not worth the pay off! I could use the support from my friends! Starting Dec. 26th, I'm gonna track my calories, 1800, and get a half an hour of exercise every day :) I'll be posting it all here too to keep me accountable!

Good to see ya making another go of it :)

look forward to you posting more often again :D

Hey Korrie

Sounds like we've got similar goals for calories and exercise.
It'll be awesome to end next year lighter than this year.

Anna

One of my goals for after the holidays is a half hour of exercise too!

Good luck, Korrie! Looking forward to your posts! :)

thanks for the replies! I WILL be posting more and I"m looking forward to making new friends :D

Good to hear you have a good Christmas Resolution! And very smart to start just after Christmas instead of just before.
I know you can do it, 1800 calories is quite doable.
I'd check with someone who knows more about these things if it's a good idea to let yourself buy more calories by exercising more. The program I'm using lets me do that, and it helps motivate me to exercise, and it helps allowing for a little cheating here and there.

Thanks Mrxian :) I'm not gonna put it off till New Years either as I have in the past...thats one more week I could have lost some weight.

So here we are, Christmas is over and I'm ready to take back control of my life!!! I have a nice chart made out, bought an awesome water bottle and have a workout DVD waiting for me! I'm gonna keep track of cals in the chart I made, but I'll post here the final rundown at night :)

Oh man, I had the BEST time yesterday! its like, once you really decide to go for it, its really not hard at all! My goal was to start off easy, 2000 cals, and then every other week drop it some. Well, I ended up eating only 1400 cals yesterday and I was totally content with that. I was on pinterest alot yesterday looking up crock up meals and I think I"m gonna rely on that. One of my problems in the past was that i never even thought about dinner, till dinnertime. then I wanted to hurry up and grab what was fast. BUT I think now, if I do a little planning, I can get a meal in the crock pot at 1 when my girls are at school and then not worry about it till dinner time.

Yest. in the crock pot, I threw in chicken breasts, cubed pots' onion, bell pepper, carrots and then when it was all done, I added corn (which FYI, don't do that ahead of time, the corn dries out too fast) it was SOOOO good!!! the chicken was "fall off the bone" soft and juicy. Oh and the best part, for christmas I bought all my girls and I those insulated cups with the hard straw, you know? I guess they are "in" right now...anyways, not only am I drinking more water, but both my girls drank 4 of those large cups!! I was shocked! they are 24 oz each! So glad my whole family is finally on board!

I'm always saying I need to do more stuff in the crock pot. I'm exactly like you with waiting until the last minute to figure out dinner. It's a horrible habit of mine...lol.

...and I love Pinterest by the way! I just wish there was a setting to filter out all the desserts, so I didn't have to see them. lol!

Congrats on the good day!:)

Thanks ladies for the support!! Yea, crock pots rule! lol

I have been NAILING it lately!! not only are we doing low cal, but we're eating the healthiest foods, chicken and turkey, lots of veggies...I can't imagine eating better and only after 3 dys I already feel that fog lifting, I feel wonderful! The last 2 dys I've been determined to get my kitchen organized and functional so it helps us lose weight :)

omgsh Jen, I hear you! I HATE those dessert pics! There should be a way to not show them, lol

Hi Korrie,
Just popped in to say Well done on your already successful start towards a healthy new you !:Angel_anim:
Glad also to hear that you feel physically better and more focused (since that fog is lifting) - that will really help to keep you motivated and fight off any cravings.

It's also great that you're setting a good example to your kids and introducing healthy meals for the whole family.
I was just wishing I knew what a crock pot was - then realised it's what's more often called a slow cooker over here.
I think I'll have to buy one after seeing everyone singing its praises in your thread:)
Hope you continue nailing it with those yummy healthy meals :drool5: ... you're off to a great start and I'm sure you'll do really well :)

Thanks Sophia! Yes, a crock pot would be called a slow cooker, I just love mine because I am normally so busy I don't even think about dinner till its time and then I grab whatever take out is less time or effort.....so just a little planning head, I get the meal in the crock at 1 and its done by 5!

Thanks for the support! I am really going to lose this time...I hate even saying that since its been 10 yrs of attempting it...but somehow this feels different. There is a certainty this time around. I know I'll do this finally, I can feel it :D
