New Year, Big Goal

A natural appetite suppressant is a lemon water. Squeeze the juice of one lemon in a glass of pure water and drink upon waking up before eating or try tomato juice with lemon. This also works as an appetite suppressant. Stressed out? Try yoga for weight loss or yoga for flexibility. Find routines online or YouTube that fits your specific fitness needs for best results.

Thank you ladies, it's the seemingly little things that make the difference.

Sorry about the lady of the flies.
I shared that title with my wife, I can't say she laughed, but she certainly appreciated the humor.

Weekend went worse than planned, but better than expected. I stuck to my drinking plan on Friday night, but they didn't offer salads, so we split a platter of nachos, and I focused on the deposits of chicken and vegetables. Saturday was a veggie-jammed omelet, moderate snacking throughout the day, but that night was the proverbial shit show I expected at our friends' house. I ate a lot of carrots, but I really just ate a lot of everything. Sunday was pretty good, a reasonable balanced breakfast, good snacks all day, and drank lots of water.

I finally tried Yoga by Adrienne, and I like her. It seems that a "strength yoga" day and a "stretch yoga" day for the week work well for me. I did my rowing on Friday, yoga on Saturday, lifted and yard work on Sunday. I'm up to 30 decent push ups now - pretty good when you're 3 and a half bills - followed by bench pressing and flyes. Followed by then trying not to get sick carrying a laundry basket up stairs cuz I'm so quivery.

Hi. I'm still around - trying to reset today from a week of bad behavior. A 3-day over-catered event (e.g. 15 pizzas for 20 people) at work where I didn't really have much to say... guess how that went. Plus we're redoing our bathroom, which is proving to be more physically and mentally draining than I expected, so regular clockable exercise is getting challenging. But I'm forcing myself back on track today.

If the bathroom remodeling is physically draining it may not be so bad that your exercise efforts are getting squashed a bit. Glad you´re hanging in there!

Yikes. I'm trying to reset as well. I've had a couple of weeks here where I've been mostly eating as maintenance and a few days that were way over. Here's hoping we can both get back on track.

Yeah, I actually deemed the 8 hours of replacing the bathroom vent as a leg day, since I got up and down from my step stool probably 60 times over the course of the day, and up and down the stairs the equivalent of a 30-story building ("Crap, I need my stubby screwdriver" Downstairs "Why am I here?" Upstairs "Oh yeah, friggin' screwdriver." Downstairs. And so on).

Resets are almost as bad as full start ups, sometimes.

I met with a friend last night, and he was talking about how many of his personal issues have been resolved with Mindfulness, which has me wanting to look into. Hard finding one that's on "my side of the river", since crossing the CT river can be a PITA. Anyone try it?

Definitely a workout, then :) For me reboots are harder than startups because they lack the initial boost of "ooo I'm doing something new and I'm being awesome! Instead you already know it's a long hard slog.
I tried mindfulness but sadly didn't stick with it. If you don't trust anyone who promises you miracles and keep your feet on the ground it's very helpful for both mind and body.

Still here, just maintaining. My "big goal" has fallen flat, but I did an in-patient with a psychologist to address my binge eating disorder (When you say 'yes' to all the 10-12 questions, you probably got it). She said my depression meds are too low, which would explain why my depression still dicks me over more than I'd like. Anyway, I start real therapy next week.

Yay for therapy, even if it´s exhausting. And yay for maintaining even though you´re not feeling great.

Yay for taking good steps toward dealing with the underlying issues holding you back from hitting your goals !! well done

Hey John,
Working with weight and depression is no easy task.
Are you still tracking your meals? I have found that it really helps me feel more in control. Even if I have to admit I ate 4 slices of pizza last night lol!

Hoping the new therapy helps :)

Hey, LJ. Hope upping your meds helps. Well done on going back for some therapy. It was nice to see you had popped in xo

Hey LJ, hope you're doing well. You seem to get gotten into the same rut I got into in the last couple of months.

Motivation struck me randomly again and I'm back at it. Don't let a few bad days get you too down. :)

Hi LJ,

Trust you are doing okay. Sounds like you have been going through some stuff. You will get through this and back on track for sure.
