New Year, Big Goal

Hi all, still sort of around. I have been otherwise occupied this summer with selling and buying a house, and all the horribleness associated with that. I think I've lost weight since last time, definitely haven't gained any, but the scale was packed away in early June in a mad rush.

I'm still going to counselling for my issues, but I haven't decided if I like my therapist. I like her personally, just on the fence professionally. She's not sure if my depression is driving my binge eating disorder or vice versa, so we're just going through that slowly.

Final closing on the sale is August 18th, then I'm taking a week off to get settled in. I will be starting to get on track again when Sept starts up, and I'll be more active here then.

Hope everyone's battles are victorious!

Moving house is SO stressful LJ. I'm glad you're taking a week off. I'm still humming & harring about counselling (& medication). Do you find you can really talk to her about everything, or do you hold back?

Thank you ladies, it's the seemingly little things that make the difference.

I shared that title with my wife, I can't say she laughed, but she certainly appreciated the humor.

Weekend went worse than planned, but better than expected. I stuck to my drinking plan on Friday night, but they didn't offer salads, so we split a platter of nachos, and I focused on the deposits of chicken and vegetables. Saturday was a veggie-jammed omelet, moderate snacking throughout the day, but that night was the proverbial shit show I expected at our friends' house. I ate a lot of carrots, but I really just ate a lot of everything. Sunday was pretty good, a reasonable balanced breakfast, good snacks all day, and drank lots of water.

I finally tried Yoga by Adrienne, and I like her. It seems that a "strength yoga" day and a "stretch yoga" day for the week work well for me. I did my rowing on Friday, yoga on Saturday, lifted and yard work on Sunday. I'm up to 30 decent push ups now - pretty good when you're 3 and a half bills - followed by bench pressing and flyes. Followed by then trying not to get sick carrying a laundry basket up stairs cuz I'm so quivery.

I knew that name sounded familiar. I saved a link to Yoga by Adriene's YouTube page a while ago because a lot of people recommended it and said it was very beginner friendly. I never got around to actually DOING it, but hey...I saved the link. That counts for something.

Seems like you're doing good, big guy. Good luck with the new house.
