Hello all.

I'm seeking advice on how to improve my workout.
My goals for the end of the summer are to get rid of my lovehandles, tone up my upper arms, and tone up my abdominals. I don't want to get huge, I just want to gain enough muscle to make my upper arms and abs look toned.

My current workout:
1. Bench (20 reps of 76 pounds)
2. Curl (40 reps of 21 pounds with each arm)
3. That tricep excercise where you put the weight behind your head and lift it. No clue on the name. (30 reps of 11 pounds with each arm)
4. Same thing as 3 but using two arms. (30 reps of 11 pounds)
5. Bar to chin (30 reps of 20 pounds, then repeat using 22 pounds)
6. Shoulder shrugs (30 reps of 21 pounds per arm)
7. Situps (80 reps)
8. Power walking with weights. (10 pounds each arm for about 3 minutes at a time)

I do this workout DAILY.

I also play soccer on a weekly basis.

My diet consists of...whatever I eat.

I'm really new to this and just want to get in shape and look good.
I am 14 years old, and have had no experience with this type of thing whatsoever.

So..any advice?

you are 14, and you are taking an active interest in your health!!!! here's my advice...

Stand up, take a deep breath, shoulders back, chin up and in a touch, one more deep breath,, in thru the nose and out thru the mouth... and say it!!! Say IT!!!

You Rule Man!!!

please read the stickies for a full body workout .It will be said a million times but that is because IT WORKS.To see the gains u r lookin for i think you should scrap all the isolated exercises you r doing and go for more compound (read and learn correct form)you will see greater gains especially if you r a newcomer. Try not to workout every day (your muscles need rest)and dont forget you r only 14 so u r still growing the decisions you make now with regards to your lifting routine will effect you in later life.If you post your stats(height weight etc maybe a pic or two)people will be able to give you a more professional opinion on what you should be doing.

Any way welcome and good luck.

P.S also look into cardio for the love handles if its a major issue (probabily puppy fat)

Hmm. I see. Well, I've decided to start eating healthier, as in more fruits, vegetables, less going out to eat. I'm also eating less sweets now. I have also changed my workout considerably.

Now instead of working out every day, I'm going to try something different.

The first day I work out for about an hour. Mainly doing some of the excercises I posted earlier because I'm seeing some results along with some new ones.

Every other day I play soccer, run 10 laps around a soccer field, go swimming for about an hour, situps, and double crunches.

Sound better?

Graaly, a little this and a little of that lead to no results real quick.

I would take 14 bucks and invest it in this...

Kudos to you!!! Keep it up and you are gonna feel great.

I would recommend a recovery period of 1 day between your weight training work outs. Recovery is what makes the muscles grow.
