New roads to travel, not alone.

Sunflower, I can even remember when I learnt what MSG was after watching the Monty Pythons crunchy frog sketch which ws 40 years ago!!!! I remember asking my dad what monosodium glutamate was. After that we used to joke about it all the time at home. If something tasted weird we would say don't worry it's only the monosodium glutamate which was quite a mouthful to say especially for my little sisters. :)

LOL I love Monty Pythons. We quote it all the time. I think that one of my favourite all time films is The Life of Brian. Just about every line is a classic same with the Holy Grail. My kids also love watching all the old sketches even though they weren't even born when they were made. They were so ahead of their time.

My brother and I used to be able to sing the entire lumberjack song verbatim... and the Holy Grail still gets quoted around here regularly.

Sorry for the thread hijack sweetheart, but I know you're good with it! Hope you slept well my dear.

That's another thing I like about these forums, we can all go off on tangents without anybody getting upset :)

so your husband has PE..what do his INR's run? i have been having difficulties with stabilizing mine. this is very frustrating as im sure you know.

I don't actually know because he keeps track of all that himself. They told us he'd have the best luck keeping everything stable if he keeps everything in his life stable. He has to keep his daily activity levels the same, eat the same things, and if he wants to smoke or drink, he has to be regular about it every day. It's all a pain in the rear, but we've learned to deal with it I guess. It just wasn't his time to go yet. At least not that way. He thinks that I'll end up killing him in bed one of these days instead! :reddevil:

this has been quite the week of nibbles here and there with all the goodies at work for the official holiday kick off time!! i have done very well despite the occasion. with the fear of bloating and hurting looming over, too afraid really to nibble much. the thoughts of nibbling were actually more intense ;)

the menu has consisted of the grapes, cottage cheese, multigrain cheerios, yogurt, string cheese and the noodles. i have also added some tuna here and there as well.

on thanksgiving i worked and my sis went to a neighbors for dinner. she packed up a plate for me of veggies i could eat. this was yummy, but apparently the stuffing and potato salad were a bit too much. i bloated up and was very uncomfortable. ah, and at lunch time workplace had turkey and ham plates brought in and while i only had a few bites of everything i wish i had my grapes and cottage cheese.

exercising has been getting back into place!! yeah!! at one time i did pilates and yoga twice a day. while im not there, i have been working out either everyday or every other day (once a day). this is on top of the 30 minute brisk walks with the dog twice a day. there have been a few days we have walked almost an hour on our second walk of the day. isnt this amazing how much better and energetic we feel after a good walk or exercise??!!

i have ordered my bike!! i found a fabulous deal on thanksgiving night on the internet!!! so excited for the arrival!!

this thanksgiving in many ways marks an end to an era in so many ways in my life and so looking forward to reflecting back next thanksgiving and have so much more to be thankful for.

i wish you all a great weekend. cheers to all of you as we continue on this life journey every day!!

:biggrinjester:

Well done! Hope you have fun when it arrives :biggrinjester::) Only a bit over a week too!

Great news about the bike - it's always fun to have something to look forward to. Hope you get some good use out of it! Mine is currently buried in a snow bank. :banghead: Need to get it out and put it away.

That must really suck to have so many foods make you feel sick. I had gall bladder attacks all the time a couple of years ago and got to the point where I was afraid to eat anything because of the pain it would cause me. I eventually had to have my gall bladder removed, but prior to that it was the easiest 10 lbs I ever lost!

Have a good week!

Hi there moonbeamish, my sessy li'l southern belle...

You asked about cycling shoes before. My take on them is that I like the combination of cycling shoes adn clipless pedals a lot, although there is a short learning curve to them. They are certainly not necessary right off. A good place to grab stuff and typically decent prices is bike nashbar, or performance bike. There are a host of other good online retailers but these two get most of my business. Shoe sizing often goes to European sizing so you need to figure the conversions sometimes. I use what they call mountain bike shoes or ATB shoes that are "SPD" compatible because they are easier to walk in. The road shoes are a pain, they are not designed for walking, only pedaling.

:hurray::hurray:

i have had a much better time with food and the tummy settling down!! so happy about this. i'm still super concious of what is going in to the tummy, but enjoying the items which are healthy and not creating issues. now last night i did stray a bit and had some homemade chicken pot pie, yummmmmmmmmm!!! and no issues!!!

exercise is starting to come back as totally normal and im feeling so fantastic!!!

i walked a brisk two hours today and the poor pup was knackered. he started slowing at the end and just kept looking up at me, like are we done yet??? im going to add a picture of my Mozart after our walk. i absolutely love to get out and walk in the brisk temperatures. makes me feel so alive! yesterday i did the advanced pilates and i will push myself until i do feel. this is such an accomplished feeling isn't it??

everyday i have a stronger confidence of being close to the 'on track'....and i have all of you cool kids to thank for this. i read your diaries and im so proud to know you all!!
