New roads to travel, not alone.

She does! I've seen the pictures to prove it!

Speaking of pictures, do you have any up yet Moonbeam?

I'll have to work on her (no not that way you pervs... oh wait, yes that way uh huh :D ), about getting a couple of pics in here. She does have a couple of profile pics, but they don't do justice.

Hear me there my moony friend? Your public awaits...

Just took a peek at the pics in your album - you look AMAZING girl!

Is that really her Cabbie??? Cuz she looks a LOT younger to me than what she says she is! Maybe it's a younger sister or daughter....?

lol..wow now that is a compliment!! thank you sweets! i just added a few more, timeline of the past two years. i'm trying to find my 'bigger' girl pics.

yep it's me, as i am the baby of the family. Cabs can vouche for me on that.

This has been a tough week in the category of food. last thursday i had chinese which did not agree with me. apparently i have developed an issue with MSG or at least my body chemistry has. i was so bloated and my stomache hurt horribly. i felt as if i was going to give birth to a watermelon. over the period of 5 days, all i could manage to get into me was ramen noodles (no msg-i checked) some grapes and cheese. on tuesday my sister picked up some sort of frozen lasagne, yeah that didn't agree with me. all i had was a tiny bit .. did i check to see if this contained MSG? no. sillly me. apparently i need to review all labels. sigh...

so i have decided for the time being i will be only consuming fresh fruits and veggies, ramen noodles and multigrain cheerios.

this last year i went off nutri system and decided i could manage portion control on my own. this worked for quite awhile, until my sister needed a place to stay. she moved in with me during the summer and my days of cooking and portioning out for several days at time of grab and go meals went away. recently with the rededication of a friendship and seeing the amazing control so many of you have, i have been inspired. so thank you!

i went to the market yesterday and bought lowfat string cheese, blueberries, as well as more yummy seedless table grapes. so here is the plan i will be using for a bit, until i decide what else i can incorporate into my diet. after this past week of being so uncomfortable and not hungry at all, im very apprehensive of food in general. suggestions are welcomed!

of course i would love salads, but as we know not allowed! sigh..

breakfast - multi grain cheerios w/2% milk blueberries on top

snack - string cheese or grapes or wheat crackers or celery

lunch - baked potato w/lowfat cheddar shred and grapes

snack - string cheese or bluberries or wheat crackers or celery

dinner - 1/2 pack ramen noodles with some english peas maybe

dessert - which of course i have FIRST lowfat chocolate pudding

i know there is not a lot of variety here and i so love variety in all apects of life , but just not so sure of food at the moment. besides i did promise i would take care of myself :)

Sorry that MSG has been trying to sabotage your diet and making you feel bad.
It's really difficult to lose weight when you have somebody living with you that isn't usually there. I have lots of house guests in the summer and the best I can do while they are here is to maintain my weight as I have no chance of losing weight while they are here.

Hey sweetheart, I know about the msg issues and stomach upset. I feel for you. I looked really quickly at your menu though and I think you could use a touch more protein? You told me you liked cottage cheese, 4 oz of fat free is 14g of protein. if you could slip some of that into the plan it would boost the protein a bit.

You take care of yourself okay? Cabbie's orders! :hug2:

ecky thank you for understanding. yes it is very difficult when others are around. as i packed up for work today, i asked my sis if i could fix her something. she replied, 'no thanks i can just pickup a 99 cent burger'. aarrrgghh oh well, im the one who wants to be healthy and will be!

yes mr.cabs i do love cottage cheese, and i did forget to mention this included in my menu. as a matter of fact i had some today!! ut oh Cabbie's orders, huh? hmmm.....nah i'm not going to comment on that one!! ;) i promise, i'm taking care of myself!

no worries, your not a dumb blonde by no means! :) MSG is a flavor enhancer you may recognize under one of the following names, Ajinomoto, Vetsin, Accent and Tasting Powder?? this is a sodium salt. i was under the impression this was basically used in some chinese restaurants, apparently not the only ones.

i must confess, after viewing some of your menus i did get some ideas on what would be safe for my tummy. so thank you!

sun i have been trying to catch up on everyones diaries and i do want to congratulate your work.

I think lots of people are allergic to MSG without realising. It makes me really thirsty (with a sort of dry back of my mouth), and then gives me a headache. Its in heaps of processed foods too, like instant noodles etc.
Look for E621 in the ingrediants (sorry if I'm telling you stuff you already know :))

Anna :)

no, its all good!! this is good for others to know as well!! thanks! i love your avatar btw :)

MSG is awful! I'm sorry to hear you got so crook :( I always get the same as Anna when I have it, the incredible thirst and a big headache.

Man it must be so hard not being able to have salads Moon, but your yesterdays food looks awesome. I'll have to try those cheerios, everyone seems to like them!

Hope you're back to feeling good now :)

I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't have my salads and other veggies. I know what it's like though because my husband nearly died about 7 years ago when a blood clot hit his lungs (not gonna even attempt to spell the medical term for that!) and has been on blood thinners ever since and can no longer eat foods high in vitamin K (which leafy and dark green veggies are). It's been hard for him to adjust because he's always loved salads. It was always comical when we went out to eat - he'd have salad and I'd order a big steak and potatoes. When they brought our food out they always set it in front of the wrong person!

Reading your meals for the day has made me hungry for raman noodles now! I haven't had them since college. I think I lived on them my senior year and it go to the point where I swear I would gag if I ever had to eat them again. But now that you put the idea in my head I'm thinking I should go buy some and introduce my girls to them!
