I apologize for the terrible quality and the grainyness of these photos: i couldn't seem to get them much better.

So, besides trying to gain muscle mass all around i am trying to work on my core/abs. I have tried to find a decent bodyfat calculator and they have given me ranges from 9%ish-12%ish. My question is, am i lean enough for defined abs?

Also, general comments/suggestions welcome.
(aside from learning photo editing to make images clearer)

Are you lean enough for defined abs? The only way to answer that is to look in the mirror. Do your abs show nicely? If so, you are lean enough. If not, you have a ways to go. Based on your pic, I'd say you need to drop another 4% or so. But you are on your way. :)

Extremely difficult. You can make minor gains in muscle mass, but it will be hard fought and it'll take a while. It also depends on your fitness level. If you are completely new to hitting the weights, you'll have a better shot at it. (the muscle gaining part of the equation, anyhow)

Then you should be able to add a bit of muscle while you are trying to trim some fat. At my age and with how long I've been lifting, I am just happy to maintain my muscle when I try to get ripped.

19; why?
