so, i am 5'5 and weigh 270.4 lbs...not healthy. time to change that though. i have a family to get healthy for, so that they can be proud of the person that they call, "wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt.." i want to be a good role model. here is some pictures of me. i can't remember if these pictures are of me at my heaviest or not. i know i took these a few months ago, but now if i was at 270 then or not.

these pictures are heartbreaking to me. i can't stand looking at myself in the mirror. it makes me sick to put them on the web, but i am doing this to make myself stay on track with losing this weight.

Welcome holly!

I can relate to how you feel when it comes to looking at yourself in the mirror. It's hard for a lot of us in this situation, but you know what, you're taking the first steps to change all that

You should be very proud of yourself and you certainly have the motivation to accomplish great things

My body has a good amount of stretch marks as well, but they will improve over time. I felt the same way about posting my own before pictures when I made my thread, but now I'm glad I did because I'm able to show just how far I've come  I have no doubt you will too someday!

Be sure to keep us posted with your progress and to come here as often as you need for motivation

Best of luck, holly!

AYou can do it! It just takes some good changes, and a routine.

I felt that way too, and still do. I rarely look at myself in the mirror. I have very little pictures of me full body. I always wear baggy clothing and just...avoid looking at myself in any way.

I hope you make it to your goal weight! We're all beautiful, inside, and we shouldn't have to hide from mirrors!

Welcome and I look forward to following your progress :) It makes me so sad to hear the shame you're feeling about looking at yourself :( I hope the weight loss will give you the confidence to see the beauty in yourself xx
