Hi, im Dillon, an 18 years old and really want to make a new life for myself.
I've always been VERY skinny, with a ridiculous metabolism that makes it almost impossible to gain weight. I've been a 130 pounds and 5'11 for a long time. I want to gain weight and muscle, im sick of this.
I want a turn around, I want woman to notice me, I want to feel confident, and manly
I've been searching all over the internet ALL DAY and my new regime starts tomorrow.
I just want some reassurance from some actual people, and some help on planning a work-out and diet I can achieve.
1. I'm going to cut out all soda, and other things of that nature, and start drinking lots more water throughout the day
2. I'm going to cut out fast food and all that other junk food.
Here's what I can easily prepare for myself for meals.
Fruits, vegetables, beef, chicken, turkey, EGGS!(lots of eggs) milk, and protien shakes(any thing else would be helpful) as small meals throughout the day.
Carbs to my understanding are the bodies energy, and should be eaten only if you intend to workout? (and never before bed) Which would include for me.
orange juice, table sugar, nonfat milk, pears, strawberries, whole-wheat bread, apple pie, biscuits, muffin, honey, (again anything else would be helpful, anything for an 18 year old who can barley cook
)
3. Running every morning... It's so cliche that it can't be avoided
. I guess its to build endurance and make you feel healthier?
4. Full body work-out at the gym every other day. I guess if the results kick in I wont be humiliated for to long at the gym
but here is a nice plan(I think anyway) that I found on the internet, that sounds good
Bench press 3 sets of 10 reps (for the chest)
Pull downs 3 sets of 10 reps (for the back)
Military press 3 sets of 10 reps (for the shoulders)
Crunches 3 sets of 25-50 reps (for the abdominals)
Squats 3 sets of 10 reps (for the quadriceps)
Leg curls 3 sets of 10 reps (for the hamstrings)
Barbell curls 3 sets of 10 reps (for the biceps)
Triceps push downs 3 sets of 10 reps (for the triceps)
Standing calve raises 3 sets of 15 reps (for the calves)
That's it I guess, i'm just going to eat healthy through-out the day (5-6 smaller meals through the day is better i've read) and try my best to bulk up a little.
Now, i know LITTLE to NOTHING about weight training lingo, so you might have to bear with me, or explain some stuff to me
I'm not trying to go die-hard body builder, I just want to feel a little better and look a little better is all. I'm not really interested in tracking my calories or anything like that on massive charts, i just generally want a better diet and a better lifestyle.
Thanks in advance for anyone that is willing to help give me pointers or recommendations on this issue
