Hey guys. I'm currently a nineteen year old college student from the tri-state area and I'm really starting to pack it on...to be exact 343.8 lbs:iamwithstupid:. on the morning on January 1st. After (I guess the correct term is>) "yo-yo dieting" for a couple of years and putting it off I decided 2011 was the time and the novelty of a fresh start only helps.

My goal is to eat around 900-1,300 calories a day (went over-board at 1,500 today since went out) and I'll start working in exercise a week in as I start school soon and I will have tons to balance.
I want to join a gym, but I want to lose some weight first...
Anyway, weighed in Monday (started Saturday morning) at around 337.2 so lost around 6.4 lbs. so far even though it may be water weight or whatever you the correct term for it is.

Start Date:
January 1st, 2011 : 343.8 lbs.:cheers2:

great job so far! i have been told lowering calories is more important that exercise for losing weight but of course cant forget the gym :) what do you plan to do before you join the gym?

What I use to do is clear out a space and run in-step, sit-ups, and then lift for about an hour to do an hour and a half while watching baseball or something else on TV - so I'll go back to that.

Until I start school I'm going to be doing tons of walking (starting soon) at a park near me with my dad daily. Longest walk there was around five miles a couple months ago as we discovered a new route and had a hard time finding our way back. Not sure how many calories walking burns but it's probably very good in terms of losing fat.

Hmm...considering buying a multivitamin like centrum since I don't really eat salad, etc. I'm not a salad type of guy (even though I should eat some veggies and fruits).

I should start drinking more water too...only drink two bottles a day.

Weighed in this morning at an 8.2 total pound loss but it isn't official till this Saturday...so hoping for around 13.8 pounds to get me to 330.

Woke up late so for lunch had half a pint of white rice and an order of broccoli and brown sauce...not sure how many calories since it's from the local Chinese fast food place.

Wow! Well done on the loss so far! o_O That is so much, concidering you've just started!

I love to find a little bit of space and watch TV whilst I'm doing my workouts too :p Did some crunchies and press ups whilst watching CSI earlier :p Hehe :)

Good luck for getting down to 330! :)

Thanks! Once school starts I'll be getting tons of exercise as well since I have to run across campus numerous times a day, going up and down three flights f stairs continuously.

Yeah, exercising while watching TV is pretty awesome. I mostly like to exercise while I watch sports (get that extra burst when my team does well)

Thanks again!

Had about ~900 calories so far today...sitting down and having a light dinner of lean pork grilled with a slice a bread. Should finish about 1200 after a light dessert :)

Welcome to the site :) You look like you're off to a great start already, though honestly, at your size, eating 1500 calories is no where near going overboard :p Don't restrict yourself too much- anything under 3000~ cals a day is going to be a defecit for you I'm sure.

The walking you've mentioned is going to be a big help too, introducing 3 miles of walking into my normal daily routine has been a massive help in seeing the pounds fall off each week and is a great and underrated addition to your regime.

Hope you stick around, this site is a great wealth of support, knowledge, motivation and inspiration! See you out there.

I'll be walking tons and I'll be hanging around!
Just weighed in....12 lbs. lost!:smilielol5:

Okay...officially one week....
And my weight now is.....drum roll please!.....327.6!
For a total weight loss of....16.2 :)

I know that after losing so much in your first week (well done by the way :) ) even 7lbs in the second week is a lot less, but don't push yourself too far to get that number.

Don't forget that as you lose weight you'll need to drop your calories even more. You don't want to end up eating too little if you see what I mean.

Anyway,
Great loss so far, you seem incredibly motivated :)
Don't worry if your second weeks loss is no where near, as even over the space of a month your loss so far would be phenomenal!
