new chapter

how calories should i be aiming to work towards? im not sure how many calories i take a day but i have a feeling its a bit lower than the recommended average im 5'7, 168bls if thats any help!!
 
I"m not sure what to tell you - some of the other people on this forum will be able to help you better - for reference though, i'm 5'4" and 150lbs and I aim for between 1200 and 1400 calories a day.
 
oh my gosh i think im going to die i weighed myself today and moved the scales into a different part o fthe room and to my horro the scales told me i had put on 7bls!! when i moved the back to the original place that i normally weigh myself i found out i have lost 7bls these scales are so *&%$"£! its unreal so i went out and ordered myself some paula radcliffe body fat monitor and scales these are digital so hopefully i wont have this problem again this has totally blown me if i look on my new sacles and see i have not lost any weight i am going to be so mad!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I personally hate my scale it never reads the same weight twice. i have to leave it in the same place all the time or i'm totally screwed and get so mad at my self for gaining weight(so the scales fault lol)if you find a good one let me know.I'm 5'5'' /164lbs and eat 1600 a day(if that helps)
 
thanks i will see how these scales are i mean if you get good ones like the ones similar to those used in hospital obviously the small ones!! but good quality you can move it anywhere and it will always read the same the scales are coming on tues so i will fill you in with my progress
 
hello guys well my plans for my big do have fallen through so i dont feel i have the motivation as i dont have a tearget anymore so i do feel a bit down and whats the point :(
anyway here is my excercise regime i have modified it slightly as i now know what areas i feel i need to target most
i start off with weights most days as i dont mind doing weights its the cardio that i find a bit boring!!
anyway
crunch 5x20
reverse abs 2x15 if you are doing them right boy can you feel them!

lunge and squat 3x12

mountain climber 3x15 tones core,thighs and butt! double whammy!! :eek:

hamstring curls 1x15

half squats 3x20

alternating lunges 3x20 i hate these with a passion!it helps when doing these to hold on to something that way you push yourself more but you are in a stable position

squat presses 3x20

inner and outer thigh 12x3

bar curls 3x25
these are a must as i have never worn a tshirt outside in without something covering my arms and apparently the arms are the quickest to see change as they are a small muscle

alternating curls 3x25

dips 3x25 for the backs of arms i dont want to be that woman on ally mcbeal that cage liked because of her flabby arms ergh

tricep extensions 3x15

45 mins on my gazelle and 15 mins skipping

i think i have the excercise regime sorted now i need to sort out my eating i dont eat alot just at irregular times i also pick alot for snacks so i need to go shopping and get me fruit and all that good stuff.

anyway dont be a stranger and write in :D
 
Don't give up, Philomena! I felt like throwing in the towel just a few days ago. This forum and prayer got me through ("Work through it!") and the lack of motivation disappeared. Suddenly I was back in the swing of things. You are worth it!

you sound like you really have a good plan going... one question though.. are you doing all of that each day? You may need to alternate days in order to make sure your muscles have time to rest. for example, do upper body one day and lower body the next time.

if you need any help with the food part, post what some of your typical days are and we can give you some advice and encouragment there too =)
 
Girl dont give up!if your plans fell through then do it for your health, thats a pretty good reason to do it :) the tip i have for cardio is to vary it between diffrent tapes/your gazelle,and going for walks or jogs.thats what i do or i get so bored i dont bother w/ cardio.I hate lunges w/ a passion! they totally suck(try doing them holding free weights for balance) but the mountain climber ive never heard of ???please tell me more :)
 
hey guys thanks for the support,
i got my new scales this week and only mangaged to undertand how to work them by sunday!! tit was a bit complicated i thought but then my aunt done them in 5 mins!! so i guess im a bit slow they are great it gives you a reading in st,lbs,kg it also has a body fat reading and a water reading so this way i will get an precise reading of how much actual body fat im losing which is very important as people can be slim to the eye but still have a high body fat % im really happy about those,
my excercise i do every other day apart from my cardio which i do 5 times a week i also got some v cheap resistance bands as my trainer told me resistance work burns fat more efficently than cardio i got 3 of them going up in strength to about 10bls they were so cheap i got them at a closing down sale of a fitness shop around my area :D .
the mountain climber is an excercise i read in a fitness mag what you do is:

position your body as if you are an olympic sprinter in the starting blocks your right leg bent and your left leg extended behind you your head up and palms on the floor in front of you

in a jumping motion switch legs while retaining your runners stance:

do three sets of 12 to 15 reps
tones the core thighs and butt all the areas us women have a problem with ;)

i have started including those slim fast shakes into my diet and those seem to be helping,my friend came round last night and i had a big meal of chinese it was so good its not like i have it every day so i dont feel bad i see it as a treat but man was it good you know when you havent had your favorites in a while when you have finally have them they taste sooo good,
i have been watching these music videos and i saw an amerie vid she made me get up out of bed and start doing my sqauts she has killer legs they are very slim but she has v good muscle tone in them how jealous am i, i so want her legs my legs are my best feature but as the weight has slowly gained im not loving them so much, so thats is one body part i really want to get back what about you guys?

your pt is right resistance does burn more cals another good reason to do them i guess lol.thanks for the info i will definatly try those out today since im doing legs:)
body part i want back :all of it lol/but if i had to pick one it would probably be my butt, a nice toned butt w/ less jiggle would be nice lol ;)

hi guys well i have been having a bit of a crappy week im really missing my boyf as he is away at uni so i have been comfort eating a bit and not keeping up with the excercise as i should i lost 2bls last week i have a feeling i might put it all back on though:(
 
Comfort eating is one of my problems too,sorry to hear you havent been doing great. is your bf terribly far away? hopefully he can visit you on the week end and cheer you up a bit. girl dont give up i know yoou can do it :)
 
thanks smiley you are a star well im in london and he is in manchester if you dont know the uk it is a 6 hour drive by car or a 2hour train ride so its not the other end of the world but as money is tight i cant really afford to buy a ticket,he offered but i said no as i felt bad i mean he is a student so i dont want to take advantage the next time he is down will be on the 27th of may so it will be over 2 months that i havent seen him:(
so im findidng it very hard but as it is a wednesday desperate housewifes will be on so hopefully jesse (the garderner) will be in it to put a smile on my face!!he is sooo adorable:)
talking about him has already made me forget about my boyfriend lol

ouch thats tough,dont know what i would do...my husband keeps talking about driving trucks and being gone for 1-2weeks at a time , just the thought of it is awfull. i hope at least you can talk to him by phone or on the net to stay connected. and your right, i sure wish he was my gardener what eye candy he is lol
 
oh yeah we talk every day but as you can imagine its just not the same i even swapped mobile phone contarcts so i could get more free minutes to talk to him on my old network i got 750 the new one i get 3000 so i will be able to talk to him as much as i want and we talk through msn during the day i mean in some ways the apart time is ok but we are a couple who first met at work we worked full time so we are used to spending every minute of the day together!! how about you and your hubby is he home alot how did you meet?
 
Must be tough, how long until he's done U.do they get summers off.
,y husband works 6-7 days a week and he's gone long hrs. im a stay at home mom so im here all day, and go a little stir crazy from lack of adult conversation that doesnt include Dora or Spiderman lol. we met trough a friend/roomate they went on a date but didnt find them selves compatible so they became friends. we got to know each other became friends and the rest as they say is history lol :)
 
ah thats nice way of meeting someone when he comes down on the 27th he will be down for a couple months for the holiday he is studying law so thats a 3 year course this is his first year so i have a wonderful 2 years years left of this!!
i can only imagine what it must be like to have kids and be at home alot but as oprah winfrey once said to be a mother is the MOST important JOB on this planet
7 days a week is really alot of time away but as im home alot now i will be here as your online buddy lol
