Never waste a calorie, the diary.

Great job getting started with running, and it's amazing how quick you can build up your speed and times! I started out going very slow for 3 min intervals, now I do a lot faster and can do 6-10 min intervals (depending on how hard I want to push myself and how good I am feeling that day). Hope your weigh in goes well!

Couch to 5k is the app that I have and the plan is available free online. The plan apparently doesn't work if you don't use it though. ;)

You could use a digital watch, timer, stopwatch etc. to do the workouts if you were so inclined. If you have an mp3 player and are computer savy, you good overlay a chime at the right time intervals into an mp3 music track. Lots of work since it changes every week though.

Either way nice work running!

Ah, I'm running together with my dad, and he carries around a small digital kitchen timer. It works wonderfully well. I'll give that app a lookover, but as I said, I'm starting with an organized running group late next month, and I don't think it would be nice to go ahead and get too far ahead of them.

I ate too much yesterday, but I was still within the limits set by my calorie plan. It's a little weird, but it gives me a calorie goal for each day, but it substracts your exercise from what you eat, so exercising means I get to eat more. I'm usually well under my goal, though. Still - I don't feel good about myself snacking on sandwiches yesterday, I'll do better today (by making sure I have some apples to snack on).
Today is part two of real running. Since we did four bits of about a minute each last time, I'm gonna see if we can't do two minutes or a minute and a half today.
Tomorrow, my daily weighing starts. I'm a little nervous about it, but not too much, I'm sure I can work it into my daily routine.

Good work on the running , and so neat that U are running together with your Dad - good motivation - U will be so ready for the group-running next month.

Apples for a snak is a great choice - high-fibre, natural , filling.... ( I slice mine & sprinkle with a bit of cinnamon).

good luck on the weigh-ins... you will do fine...and don't worry about little ups/downs.... fluid alone can cause 2-3lbs. up/down sometimes...

6'6"! :svengo: I will try to contain myself. I have quite the tall guy fetish :D

I love your greeting:) Sounds like something an old alchemist would say. Also your discourse on never wasting a calorie is a really good one and I think its something I need to implement in my life--so thanks for sharing. Good luck with your journey!

You must be on MyFitnessPal?? Sounds like the same eating plan they recommend. I am on there too, but don't follow their eating plan, I just use it to track food and exercise. Hope your run went well today!

Not as much loss as I'd have liked, but I'll take any loss, even the small ones. At this rate I'll be dipping under 130 in two to three weeks.
My run went quite well. I only ran three stretches this time, but each stretch was a minute and a half long. Next week we'll go to 2 minutes long, and we'll slowly increase the duration of the run as we go on.
I'm not using MyFitnessPal, but ShapeUp Club. I think they are both similar calorie counting apps. I follow their recommended food plans, and I've liked it so far. I'll talk to a doctor about it one of these days, but I'm not in a big rush for that, since it's going well right now.
Today, the weight loss competition starts, and I'm proud to say that I didn't eat a lot of salt yesterday to boost my initial weight. I love figuring out ways to bend the rules, but I don't actually like bending the rules. I'm a little anxious about the competition. Will it motivate me or demotivate me? Will I start using bad habits to lose more weight? Will I learn good habits to lose more weight? So many worries, I'll just have to take it one step at a time and see how it all goes. I'll have to take care not to get too competative, I sometimes go a little overboard when it comes to nitpicking rules and wanting to win.
Today looks to be another good day. It's finally cold outside, no more of this horrible 7 degrees celcius crap that's been going on all winter - finally we get some freezing temperatures. I lost my gloves, which is a bad thing, but I may just go out and buy myself a new pair, they weren't that expensive. Gonna go to the gym again today, which I'm starting to enjoy more and more, and after that there's my weekly trip to the marketplace, which I've always enjoyed. So all in all, a good day, I think.
See you all tomorrow.

Hey, little loss is loss too. Save the big loss for the competition!! hahaha!
As for wheteher its gonna motivate you or not? I think it will! It totally motivates me! I defo not gonna pick up the chocolate bar or chips because i dont wanna let my team members down!
So you love the markerplace? is that for grocery shopping? I love grocery shopping! I love picking up fruits and vegetables!! :D

Hope you had a good day!!!

Of course, the day after I eat like a total pig - and fast food, too - I lose almost two pounds in a day.
I gotta remind myself that it's just my normal weight fluctuating, and that there's no secret diet in eating a double portion of french fries drowned in garlic sauce.

Today, I was planning to visit the opening of a new oriental foods market near where I live. It'd be a nice exercise to walk there and back, and I love exotic foodstuffs. If only I can get my dad to come along with me, it wouldn't be quite so lonely. I'm sure he can be convinced.

Hey oriental food market sounds great! You really into foods :)
Hope you can get your dad to go with you. alternatively you can just listen some music on the way! :jump:

131.9

I've skipped a few days of posting, I had a silly reason to not check the forums daily.
But I'm back now, and I'm still weighing myself daily. There's a lot of variation in my daily weight, it's rather interesting to see - I only have a few days of data but I already want to make a graph out of it .
The oriental foods market was interesting, but way too overcrowded, so we didn't stay inside for very long. I did notice they had a ton of different types of hot sauce, but other than that I didn't see anything interesting. It was a really nice walk going there and back (a total of about two hours of walking), and the weather was quite nice too, so I still had a good time with my dad.
See y'all tomorrow.

What has been going on with you?

You havent been to the forum in a few days and havent posted your results on the challenge for last week.

I hope that things are going well.

If you have any problem that I can help with you only need to ask. I will help if I can.
