Need your advice.

Hi there,

I started treadmill exercise by early May 2010 when I was 75.1 kg/165.6 lbs. I am a male, 62 years with 168 cm/5’ 5” height.
The treadmill (Strength Master MT600) exercise every Monday, Wednesday and Friday one hour each at speed (in kilometer/hour) 5, 6 (five minutes each), 6.5 – 6.7 (40 minutes), 6, 5 (five minute each) with inclination up to 6 increment.

Until today I have been able to reduce my weight to 68.0 kg/149.9 Lbs (about 7 kg/15.5 lbs within 10 months). My target weight is 65 - 66 Kg/143.3 – 145.5 lbs.

My questions are:
- After I reach my target weight, how to maintain it?
Should I reduce the frequency or reduce the intensity of my exercise?
To what level?
- What is minimum duration for weight maintaining exercise?

Please, your good advice on the above will be highly appreciated.

Thank you & regards,

Hi there. I've been researching this issue myself.

Everyone is different and you just have to do some trial and error to see what works for you after you've reached your goal.

Doing some Google searches could give you some ideas and suggest some tips as to what you should expect.

I would suggest arming yourself with as much information as possible, keep a firm eye on that scale, and just adjust your calories and exercise until it balances out. Keeping a log of everything you do will help as well.

I have yet to experience maintenance mode, but that's how I'm going to approach it once I'm there.

Good luck :)
