Need to lose.... basically nothing. So why can't I do it?

Hi.

I am 19yrs old, 6'3" and about 80kg.

I have had basically less than 4% body fat my whole life. I probably still do. However I have recently noticed a very slight buildup of fat around my lower abdominals and lower back, at my belt line.

I can't get rid of it, which is annoying, because it is in the way of otherwise great abdominal definition. What is more annoying is how this is even possible considering I have a bloody Mach 3 metabolism and run 30 - 40km a week at a competitive pace and do a lot of core strength work.

So any ideas as to how this happened haha? And why it won't go away?

Thanks. Your advice will be much appreciated.

i doubt you have less than 4% bodyfat otherwise you would probably be dead:rolleyes:and if you have a layer of fat thats defo a no no.

That's one of the last places to get lean. That's all I have left too so I'm kind of zig-zagging my way leaner....I keep bulking then cutting the same 6 lbs to slowly get there without losing more weight overall.

...and yeah I'd say you're not single digit BF if you have ANY noticeable fat on you . I think I'm between 10-12%

check you diet!!! if you run that much its even possible that you may not be eating enough, if your body's in starvation mode you will never lose that abdominal fat.

Yeah I would check your diet. Other things to consider are genetics and muscles. I would suggest that unless you are hugely cut and solid lifting heaps you are not 80kg with such a low BF%. Also, I think some people on these forums really underestimate their BF% as an Olympic sprinter (you know those muscular, lean, cut guys flying past you like lightning) has a BF% of just into single digits 8-9% and that is their job. If you have less than that you are anerexic or dead.

I have the same problem as well. Check to make sure you do not have APT ( anterior Pelvic Tilt)
