Not sure if this is the right section, my name is Jason and Ive just started working out and changing the way I eat. I have read numerous places its a lifestyle change and not going on a diet so that is how I am looking at this. Currently I weigh 240 lbs and im 5'-8", I know that sounds huge for my height but I am really not that big. I will post pictures later tonight when I get home, I think taking pictures will help keep me motivated. Basically I need some advice from some of the guys who have been doing this a while. Im not looking to be huge, basically I want to cut down all my fat, have a nice body and be in shape and feel better about myself and my apperance. I played college baseball, so I know the foundation is there its just covered by fat. I was in pretty good shape when I started my job, problem is my job is a desk job and sitting at a desk all day doesnt help burn fat. My main questions are these. Whens the best time to workout? Morning? Night? If I workout in the morning should I eat before or after my workout? I feel like working out in the morning will be tough at first with waking up earlier and such, but I also feel like I will feel better throughout the day. Also for breakfast I vary on what I eat. This morning at 7:30 I had a 100 Calorie cereal bar and a glass of milk and was good until about 9:30 or so when I ate some apple slices and nuts. For lunch I will be having a small sandwich with turkey and ham, then a snack in the afternoon of apples and nuts. Dinners I am not sure yet. If anyone can give me any advice on these things that would be great. Also what are good workouts? if you could give me a day by day breakdown that would be awesome. Also is it beneficial to workout everyday or no? Thanks again, and sorry its so long.
