Need help toning muscle

Hey everyone, I'm a new member here and I am in search tips on how to get my muscles toned and defined so I can be "cut".

So far, I've been told to go on a low-carb diet, but eat a lot of protein such as steaks, eggs, chicken, tuna, and turkey. I've been mostly substituting my bread with salad and I'm trying to take daily vitamins. I work out about twice a day for 15-20 minutes each time. I benchpress, curl, and work on a lot of pilates to tone my abs.

Am I doing everything correct? Please feel free to give me tips on how I can get my body toned better.

I am currently 5'6 1/2 and weigh 139 lbs.

Thank you all.

Toning is just a made up way of saying losing body fat to expose muscle definition underneath.

To lose body fat well....

Don't do the same exercises every day. Vary them according to what is worked so they have an opportunity to rest. One day could be legs, back; shoulders(chest), abs, the other. Get enough rest.

Don't listen to that diet stuff. You need good carbs to fuel your muscles.
