hey i'm new to this forum.
i am 25, in pretty good cariovascular shape (i walk about 8 km a day with my dog) but would like to get back into weight training. i used to work out quite a bit but i developed carpal tunnel syndrome from teaching guitar full time and practicing about 5 hours a day so i had to stop lifting. when i worked out before i got too bulky. i was doing 6-8 reps with heavy weights. i want to build some mass now but i want to look lean and cut.
all i have is a weight bench, bar and two dumbells. i am considering getting a bowflex, anyone know if they are any good?
anyway, what kind of program/technique should i be doing. i am about 6 feet all, and about 180 lbs. i am pretty lean right now and i eat very well. i just want to put on a bit more mass but look lean and muscular.
my abs need the most work. can someone help me with a home ab routine?
a friend of mine takes russian martial arts and they make him hold himself in a pushup position for 5 minutes. i tried it and it really works the core muscles well. is this good enough?
the two thing si would like to add to my equipment are dumbells that i can trust not to let the weights fall on my face when i am doing fly's (what kind should i get? i have the ones with the red metal holders that have the turn-key lock) and something so i can do pull-ups...any suggestions?
thnaks a lot.
