So this is my first post on the board i started weight training 5 weeks ago because i was tired of been so slim, i am 23 185cm tall and my starting weight was 85kg i was thinking of bulking to 95kg then start the cut to 90kg, by the way i am new to this so im not sure how to go about the cut?? so any advice will be great the bulk is going good it was pretty easy because i was not eating much before so i am pretty much putting a kilo a week, and as for cardio can i do plyometrics while i cut? i play basketball on the weekend nothing serious but i really want to be able to jump i have 21inch vertical right now and was wondering if can get it up to 30inch while still having a good size i dont want to lose the muscle and do u guys think me at 90kg is a good weight or is to heavy for my height
sorry for the long post but i have so many questions i need help with hope you guys can help thanks
heres the pics
me at 85kg starting pic

me at 87kg

me at 87kg(ithink i lost some bf)

me at 88kg(after a workout)

one more question if i lose the bodyfat do i have enough deffinition for my abs to show a 6pac thanks in advance:eek:

I think you should keep bulking, it looks like you lowered BF and put on some muscle. At the moment if you cut there wouldn't be much of a change, and no you don't have a 6 pack. if you cut, probably a small 4 pack.

should i bulk to 100kg?? i was aiming at 95kg i am know 90kg so im pretty close to my goal
heres a pic i just took

a pic of my legs

Its real hard to say straight out what you look like at 100. What is your goal physique that help us out a bit. What strikes me first is that I would keep bulking.

then you have a long way to go my friend, and if you stick with us, im sure you can achieve your goal. Id keep bulking definitely.you will need to put on a lot of muscle to look like the pic you posted. just eat clean, lift big, and if you see that you are gaining too much, cut back your intake. track you calories, macros etc... and make sure you are getting enough protein to repair and build your damaged muscles. Fats are essential, as well as carbs.

Try to aim for no more than a pound of weight per week.

Good job!
I hope you squat, squats alone improved my vertical jump drastically. And in order to further improve your vertical leap, aside from weight training do plyometrics.
What's your workout like?

yep i am doing squats twice a week
this is my routine
mon-bench press 6x3 45kg(i know im weak)
db upright row 15x3 9kg
db side raises 15x3 5kg
db chest fly 15x5 9kg
bentover row 7x4 45kg
standing military press 15x3 20 kg
abs workout

tue-front squat 5x3 45kg

push ups 10x3 with 9kg vest
abs workout

fri-front squat 6x3 45kg
toe raises 25x3 45kg
back squat 15x3 25kg
i have 30-40 sec between sets
every week i put more weight on the barbell
every workout i raise the reps or sets or both
my workouts are 45min to 1hr long

Seems like a good routine and pretty intense too. It seems to be working for you, so stick with it.
Doing squats with 40 sec. rest.. That must be painful :) .
Plyometrics might help in the fat burning process, but I'm not quite sure how effective it will be. I don't have much knowledge about using Plyometrics for fat burrning purposes. But take a look at this article , it seems to provide some information on that subject
