naturally high metabolism

is there such a thing as a naturally high metabolism? where you can eat whatever you want and not gain any weight......or is someone hiding something?

It is very true. THeres a guy I bowl with on thursday nights, he weighs maybe 125 tops, a real bean pole. He eats a large (frozen ones they sell there) pizza, 2 or 3 orders of chicken bites, and drinks beer all night long. He doesn't gain a pound!

those are the people i hate. :p i think abear calles them ectomorphs or something, actually i think he said something about him being one... anyways, just about every one at my school is like that my one friend has 2.5 liters of cola every day and a bag of all dressed chips for lunch, and thats pretty much his meal. another person i know eats like theres no tomarrow and has nothing but hamburgers and fries, and i still weigh more im kilograms than he does in pounds.

its the worst when there the people that get no excersise at all too, and couldnt care about what happens to there bodies, it just bugs me.

cheezes me off since i pretty much live a lifestyle of not eating any junk food, exersize every single day, sometimes 2-3 times a day, take multivitamins and still I'm not able to get a 6 pack....like is it that its not possible or what

you shouldnt work out every day, at most you should do it every other day, your muscles can only grow when your resting, and it takes time and patience, oh yeah it also takes cardio to get a 6 pack.

also takes a very healthy diet, abs are made in the kitchen

yeah cause i see super skinny people who say they can eat whatever they want, but if they are supper skinny, it seems like they would have less muscle, less fat, weigh less so inturn, need less calories....makes no sense...also angers me  but i dont think my question was answered, is there really such thing as a high metabolism? or is everybodys metabolism is the control, and muscle mass, heigh, body fat, etc etc are all the variables?

Some people just have super fast metabolism NATURALLY, other people have to work for that kind of a metabolism....and keep it that way. My sister, though super SUPER thin (she's in her 20's, btw), does exercise (she walks about once a day), and used to be in JROTC when she was in school, so she takes care of her body, but she still has the gift I wish I had....naturally fast metabolism.

When i was a teenager up untill i was about 17 i could eat anything i wanted and stay really skinny like mcdonalds 2 times a day, pizzas pop. If only i could go back to that lol.

ive never had that :( oh well i get to spend my whole life eating healthy never knowing what it is like to eat like that. ignorence is bliss :)

i was 125lbs at 5% bodyfat with 12" arms and 10" calves when i was 23. sometimes i have ppl tell me "oh i know how you feel, when i was 8 years...."

i have to say "no you have absolutely, positively no friggin clue what its like"

8 years old compared to 23.

:p

to be honest i have a very high metabolism i'm soooooooooooooooo skinny and i only weigh 40k ... well at least i can eat whatever i want without caring but it doesn't mean i don't extercise :newangel:

Yes. I've met a couple people with high metabolisms, but they did not just eat tons of junk food all day. They just ate a normal amount, not too much and not too little, and didn't require exercise to stay thin. (But there are also some people who can overeat and still remain skinny somehow.)

It also depends upon what country you live in. In the US there are lots or hormone additives to food and fluoride added to water that can slow the metabolism down (among other awful things). So Americans tend to have slower metabolisms than people of other countries on average.
