My weightloss/gain story..

I start my weightloss journey today and came here for motivation... My weight always fluctuated.. This is definitely the heaviest I have ever been.. before this the last time I was heavy I was 195 lbs and i went on a dangerous and extreme diet to lose the weight and went from 195-135 in 6 weeks, 60lbs in 6 weeks!! Physically I looked good but internally I killed my body.. I lost my metabolism and when I stopped dieting and got pregnant I gained back all the weight and then some. I now have a baby and can't be doing foolish diets like then and I know better now so I'm starting a healthier weightloss journey..Many of you have motivated me and I hope that I can succeedand be a motivation to others as well someday!

I found another great weight loss story about this lady who lost 100lbs and looks amazing! I related to a lot of what she went throu while she was bigger and I thought that maybe some of you out there would to. It's very encouraging!!!

2 lbs down, 83 more to go.. =( That such a long way to go!!! At least I'm losing already... altho I know the first 5-10 are usually the easiest, for me any ways.. I've just went from a 2000+cals a day to 800, so that's also it too..


It's so hard, and it didn't help that right after I posted the first thread a scout girl came selling cookies at my door.. yes, unfortunately I bought a box (she's a neighbor and I was trying to be supportive).. But, I only had 2 cookies (80cals total), and had my husband take the rest to work the next morning.. But it's so stupid, coz for that many calories I could have had a piece of turkey which would have been more filling and nutritious instead of two little empty high calorie sugar balls..


any ways, 83 more to go... Damn... I can't believe I let myself get to this point.. I'm doing all I can to stay focused and motivated.. It's so hard when you cant see physical results yet, ( I know it's only been 2 days), and also coz of my height (5'9") I don't start seeing physical results until I lose about 15-20lbs.. (but it helps in reverse when I gain it doesn't show as much, but God forbid that to ever happen again!)
 
I recently discovered a way I can test wether my body's running on stored fat (meaning in literal fat burning mode) or if your body's burning or using energy from recently consumed carbohydrates. It's a urine test you can take from home that'll measure the amount of ketonics being released in your body. The higher the ketone level, the more fat you're burning.

I swear by these test! Every time I have a high ketone result and weigh myself I always find that I did lose weight. I also tried eating carbs (cereal) right after and tested a little later and had a negative test/ meaning I wasn't releasing any ketones and my body was no longer running or burning stored fat, but instead running/still burning the carbs I had eaten.. Hence putting my weight loss on pause..

The test strips are called KETOSTIX and you can buy them at most pharmacies and stores. I get mine at either Walgreens, CVS, and Walmarts.. They cost any where from $6-$10, and you get about 50 testing strips.
