My Story

no foul

No harm in waiting to weigh in. I waited 28 days from the time I started trying to lose weight until my first weigh in. I knew that by then I would HAVE to lose something, and I did not want to get discouraged and quit in the first month. I say if you want to put off the weigh in, do it. Just keep working hard and sticking to your plan in the meantime! :)

You sound like me with the weigh in...the last time I hopped on and closed my eye's until I was brave enough to open them.. I too worry that I will completely lose motivation if I gain any weight! I actually feel a pit in the bottom of my stomach just thinking about it! BUt we will NOT we will stick together and keep each other motovated and on track! I know that just because of this forum I have stuck with this longer that I have anything in the past 6 years! So lets help each other out and keep plugging away at this "life changing" experience!

well I'm glad to say that the huge amounts of motivation I had carried over to last nite and this morning too. :)

I didi 20 mins of cardio last nite and burned 103 cal. I'm not going that fast yet, but I feel soo much better having moved around.

This morning I got up and did 10 mins of cardio on the gazelle (i got up late will do 20 mins tormorrow) had breakfast (cheerios), that's two days in a row, and now I'm at work, filled up my 320z cup full of water and got all the things I need to have another good day.

I don't think Im going to weigh myself this friday, I know if I haven't lost a pound I will want to quit, sooo, I'll hold out till next friday.... I gotta remember it's gonna come off slowly. besides I don't want to kill the buzz I have right now, I'm gonna ride it to the end.

Now I'm off to share my motivation with everyone else here!!

You're awesome

Your comments made my day more 'motivated' for sure!! :D

I'm glad to hear you're still on the motivation high. My motivation was down today so tomorrow I'm spiking it through the roof.

No harm in staying off the scales. I think it is just a number anyway. How you feel about your size and how your clothes fit is much more important than the number. Your doing great.

Wow- great job with keeping your motivation level sky high... I am REALLY bad about forcing myself to get off my big butt and exercise.

Also- great idea about waiting longer to weigh yourself. I am addicted to weighing myself constantly, and I have seen the same number on the scale for the past 4 days and it's making me want to scream. I wish I had the self-control to stay away from the stupid thing!

Wow, I really admire the ability to get up in the morning and exercise BEFORE work!!!
Can I have a big ol' helping of that kind of motivation? You go......

Thanks for all the support

Last nite dinner could have been better, I had egg flower soup, but... I didn't eat the whole container like I usually do. It must have been 90 degrees in my apt last nite but konwing I was going to post here I got up and did my 20 mins of cardio on my gazelle burned 103 calories, still not pushing myself too hard. :)

I woke up this morning and did 20 mins more of cardion but I burned 104 calories, so hopefully by the end of my 10 days in a row, I'll be burning even more calories and maybe even want to stay on longer than 20 mins. Since I work to jobs I usually work out while I watch my will and Grace.

I had breakfast today too, cheerios again, but I'm thinking of getting that wc oatmeal when I shop this weekend.

I had my snack of lowfat yoplait at 10:30 and for lunch I'm about to have some low fat soup, 200 calories, I'm thinking I might try adding some veggies to my lunch routine, (ick I hate green stuff)

I will have my apple and peanut butter for snack around 4:30 pm then it's off to work the second job. :(

Tonight is burrito nite I's going to be really hard to say no, Is there anything at a mexican restaurant I can eat????? HELP.

I have to say regarless of how bad I eat tonight, (I won't get off work till after midnight) I know i'm gonna start my sat. with 20 mins of cardio and a bowl of cheerios

I have an idea, you can borrow my taste buds then you won't want to eat anything in the Mexican. Arg if there's one food I can't eat it's Mexican food.

You look like you're making great choices regarding foods and the work your doing on your gazelle will help as well. Just start trying to build up what you're doing, like instead of 20mins try 21 next time and just work your way up gradually.;)

Have a lovely weekend!:)

You're doing great. That is the one key with exercise, regularity. And if your anything like me, you need something that you can do anytime, so that when the motivation strikes you can jump on and workout. I couldn't go to a class, because it would be too easy to make excuses

Keep up the good work!!

I'm having one of the better weekends I've had in a while, NO drive thrus!!!! yeah. Friday I did have tacos, but they were real tacos not fried shells, and for the first time ever NO sour cream.!!! I passed on the soda and just had water.

Sat I got up and the first thing I did was 20 mins on my exercise machine. Another 103 cal. then I had my cheerios, I had to go to a b-day party in 100m degree heat :( I had nothing but water, even though that ice cold coke was looking way to good:p I had only white meat of the chicken and NO potatoe salad :)

I went shopping and picked up some of that wc oatmeal. lots of yogurt, and plenty of fruit, and last but not least I am going to eat some veggies this week.

I didn't get back on the machine last nite, still almost 80 degrees in my apt:eek:

But today is starting out great, I had my cheerios, the I did 25 minutes in the gazelle machine, I burned 130 calories!!!!. I'm actually looking forward to weighing myself on friday. It will be two weeks.

I love these forms, all the support and inspiration are really helping stick to my goals

Three cheers for no drive thrus!! Woo hoo!!! :) And you are doing phenomenally with th exercise. Isn't it an amazing sense of accomplishment when you avoid temptation like you did at the birthday party? Enjoy the feeling; you earned it!

smallerbytheday,
You are doing GREAT!!

As for mexican food - what about Carne Asada? (I'm not suggesting it, just asking, because I have *no* idea about the calories of it), but for me, I'm good with just the meat, and maybe one tortilla to go with it. It has to beat the huge chicken/avocado quesedilla I used to get ;)

Or not!

tacos

I LOVE tacos. And fajitas. And burritos. And enchiladas. Okay, slap me now.

I did learn one thing early this month. I realized I have been doing tacos all wrong. I used to eat less meat and more tortillas. Tortillas have SO many calories! I had no idea. Now, I have the same amount of meat that I used to eat on four tacos, but I put it on two tortillas and save myself a LOT of calories. I also load up on the lettuce and tomatoes, and go light on the cheese. I'm getting less than half the calories that way! Yeah, my tacos are harder to hold now, but they are way better!

Oh I love messy tacos! I do fry my flour tortillas when I make them, but instead of having two, I have one, and use way less cheese, turkey chili instead of regular along with the meat and low fat sour cream. They *have* to be better than they were ;)

Hey Smaller, glad you had such a good week. Every little thing you do is helping. I think when you do weigh in you are going to be pleased with the results. Keep up the good work.

It's all those little adjustments you are making that add up to big weight loss, in my opinion! And soon they won't feel like deprivation. Switching off soda is great, too. You're doing really well!!! Keep it up!
