Hey Mands

Just been reading through your journal and we have about the same amount to loose!! We should be diet buddies :) I have just re-started Cohen's after having a bit of a break over christmas- which I dont recommend! Deviation free is the way to be as it works SO much better if you stay 100%!

You will be finished before you know it and have a FANTASTIC loss so far! Your go girl :)

All the best for this week and keep your mind focused on how good your going to look and feel once you reach your goal!

xx nicky

Hi mands, Well done on the great loss & also keeping busy with your photography course. It sounds like a great idea to take your mind off food. Catch up soon, Cate

Hey Mands,

Guess what? We have the same boss. ;) I've never had anyone like her - it was actually quite shocking because she had no shame bitching about everybody under the sun to well, everybody else. I thought it was very unprofessional and she stressed me out because I knew she was saying the same bitchy things behind my back. Last year was hell, but this year I'm vowing to myself to not give her the power to make me feel bad.

Oh, I could completely write a whole long entry on this but I won't. :) I'm focusing on the positive this year! Like this Cohen journey and the forum support! How amazing is that?

Hiya everybody!!

Weighed today and hit 83.8kg (184.7)! OVER THE MOON!!!

I've really been good and tx to all of you that supports and motivates me on this journey!

The photography course is with Johnathan Andrews School of Photography. He is one of South Africa's best & biggest photographers.

Angel you can access his site through www.japhotography.co.za
He is so good and I'm in awe of his knowledge and track record. I'm having so much fun and learning a hell of a lot.

Dietgrrl - if I make a success with my photography I am going to pursue it professionally and then my boss can go and screw herself. However I am handling her now - sometimes she still gets to me but not often. I just switch off and ignore her bitchy comments. I HAVE THE POWER!!!:smash:

Back to food - I have lost my cravings for chocies - which is a major milestone for me. However I've been missing bread soooo much this last week.

My total weightloss since November is now 12kg (26.5lbs). I can't believe it!! I have 23kg (50.7lbs) to go and hopefully I can do it by end of April 2010.

I've been reading so many posts and everybody is doing so great!!

Keep it up and think of the end result!!!
Hav a great Sunday!
:seeya:

Hey Mands

12kgs is awesome! Well done :) the other 23kgs will be gone in no time with the awesome results you're achieving!!!!

Glad to hear the choccie cravings are gone! Meh, bread isnt all its made out to be! Now I'm allowed it I only feel like I want it because I have the option to have it, not because I want it! So I'm trying my hardest to stay away from it where I can. It's not really worth the way it bloats you (well most people experience this, you may not) and also the smelly farts that come along with eating it, ha ha ha sorry!!!

Well done and hope you have a great week ahead!
K xo

Goooood Morning Vietnam!!!! (ha - ha - ha)

I woke up this morning and I just feel great! Weighed this morning and down to 83.1kg(183lbs). When I started on Cohen's 07 Jan 2010 I started out with 91kg(201lbs). So in 5 weeks I lost 8 kg - I was hoping for 10kg but I'm quite happy with 8kg.

I remember that since my mom's death (Apr 08) I tried to loose weight and I would lose 1 - 2kg and nothing else. Then I would pick it up again and it went on like that for loooong until November 09 when I decided I have to change my life. I came to this realisation after my hysterectomy. My periods used to be a HUGE problem in my life and it would impact my life quite a bit for the 2weeks that I would have it. So with that problem taken care of I thought "why not change everything else and become healthy, young, fit & thin again"

And that was my jolt!!

Now 3 months later I feel young & alive again. I'm starting to feel better about my body as the weight is shedding.

This morning when I woke up it was just nice to feel my ribs again - haven't felt them for a while. Might seem silly to others but this was such a nice feeling to feel a little bit of bone instead of just fat.

Going for my hair today and will then I'll be busy with my photography assignments - so a nice day ahead.

Have read a few diaries & posts and you guys are really doing amazing!

Keep the focus and think of the end result!!!

Happy losing!
:seeya:

Mands, I feel your joy!
I think we have much in common. What a great post. Well done! Thank you for sharing that with us, xo Cate.

18 pounds in a little over a month? Amazing!!! I am impressed!

Did you have to do much exercise to lose that, or was it diet mostly? I need to look into the program!!

Mands, you go girl!! That photography course sounds fab!!

Congrats on your weight loss so far! Your enthusiasm is infectious. :)

Hi y'all!

Went to movies last night to finally watch Avatar! WOW WOW WOW - stunning movie!

I just wanna thank Cate for her advice on the popcorn. Wanted to have but I didn't instead....... I had some biltong. :blush5: I know I'm not suppose to but I figured its all protein and wouldn't harm much.

I did weigh this morning and still managed to drop 400g since yesterday.

Will do some stomach crunches and shake machine today.

Happy Valentine's day!!

Hi Mands, I'm so glad you didn't have the popcorn. Phew! It will help you in the long run if you start thinking that you can do things without emphasising the food component of the outing. We place so much importance on "treats" & that's why so many of us became overweight. Later, on maintenance, Biltong is a perfect snack as it is a healthy, lean protein. It's best to get to goal asap & then everything is available to you. It's best to strengthen your resolve now so that you can deal better with having all the choices later. It's great to learn what are good & bad choices so that you never become overweight again. Glad you had a lovely Valentines Day, xo Cate

Hi y'all

Saw my Cohen's consultant today for my 4 weeks follow up. Weighed in at 82.5kg (182lbs). So a total loss of 8.5kg (19lbs)! Not too shabby hey!

Blood results came back as hormones borderline okay.

This is so motivating and I'm looking forward to the next 4 weeks! Someone told me the other day that I will never weigh 60kg (132lbs)because my bone structure is too big (which it's really not). So that comment just pushed my determination to new heights. And I said to her "I WILL WEIGH 60kg!!" You just watch by end of April!

You know my life used to be about when & what is the next meal. When my emotions ran haywire I would grab chocolates and I have made a total 180 degree turn from that.

I now rather find something to do - like my photography and you get over that stress much quicker and with less side effects.

Cohen's is my lifestyle and my rock!

Keep up the "losing" everybody!
Cheers

Well over a third of the way to goal already! Well done Mands!

Hi Mands, It is wonderful when you see that it has clicked with someone how their life & attitude towards food has to change for there to be a permanent change. Congratulations sweets on making the choice to become healthy & to show such determination. You will show them! xo Cate

8.5 kg loss in first month is really good!! Congrats! Funny how people tend to pass judgments on how much we should weigh or not. How does the person know that your bone structure is too big to be weighing 60 kg?? I think we all fool ourselves that we have a larger bone structure when we are heavier but when we start to lose the weight, we realize, hey, I am pretty small too...

Hellooooo!!

I'm feeling like crap today!! I'm getting flu and I have sore throat, runny nose & congested everything!:ack2:

I had a chicken breast with mushroom sauce and some pumpkin - yeah all the wrong stuff :banghead:

Got my meds from the chemist and will have an early night. Must say I don't feel too guilty that I cheated. But I have such a headache that it will probably hit me like a bus tomorrow.

Well anyway, hope everybody is still going strong!! Don't follow my example!!!

Get well soon Mands. Don't leave it too long to go back on Cohen's 100% as I'm sure you want to be slim & healthy. So many people start, so many more don't finish. Deviations along the way make it so much harder to focus & to build resistance & strength. We will all need it to stay slim forever.
Take care of yourself & give yourself some TLC & hopefully we'll see you here raring to go & happy to be on Cohen's until you get to your goal weight. Sending you one of my "killer" hot lemon drinks, xo Cate.

What is a shake machine? I've never heard of that.

The actual name is Crazy fit massager. Another name which is probably more common is the Power plate - it's a vibrating machine. It shakes you from here till timbatoo! It exercises & firms you up and gets rid of stress, regulates blood pressure etc.

I just call it my shake machine:bigear:
