My progress towards 176 Lbs

Day 57
Starting weight: 231 Lbs
Current weight: 201 Lbs
Target weight: 176 Lbs
Loss to date: 30 Lbs
Left to lose: 25 Lbs

I set off an a 5 mile run yesterday but only completed 2.2 miles as I could feel my knee so I opted to walk the 2.2 miles back from that point.

By the end of this week it would be great to dip below 200 Lbs.

Day 58
Starting weight: 231 Lbs
Current weight: 200 Lbs
Target weight: 176 Lbs
Loss to date: 31 Lbs
Left to lose: 24 Lbs

Reached the new landmark of 200 Lbs and will hope to break through that in the next day or so and also looking forward to the next landmark of being sub-90Kg (currently 90.7Kg).

Have started selling some of my old (big) clothes on Ebay starting with some suits that I only bought last year.

Thursday to Sunday

Thursday: 5.06 miles
Friday: 5.02 miles

I run the same route and then turn around and run back the way I came. I use an app on my phone called RunKeeper to track not only the distance (uses GPS) but also calories burnt and my speed.

Saturday morning I weighed myself at 199 Lbs but I knew it wasn't going to last as we took a family day trip to Northampton for a birthday party and BBQ. Weighed 200 Lbs on Sunday morning after a 4.5 mile run and 1.5 mile walk (was too hot and too dehydrated to complete the full 6 mile run so walked the final 1.5 miles) and later that morning chose to jog/walk to my inlaws - managed to slow jog 2 of the 3.35 miles as again the 30 degree heat got the better of me.

Sunday evening we had a simple BBQ in the garden and Monday morning Day 62 I am back up to 202 Lbs. I am not really overly concerned as I have learnt that red meat tends to linger longer in your system and I expect to be back at sub 200 Lbs by Wednesday this week.

Day 64
Starting weight: 231 Lbs
Current weight: 198 Lbs
Target weight: 176 Lbs

By BMI is now 26.3 and my weight has dropped below 90 Kilos weighing in at 89.8 Kilos.

My next targets are a BMI below 26 and I am also only 2 Lbs away from reaching the 14 Stone mark.

Loss to date: 35 Lbs

My BMI now reads 26 exactly
I have dropped down to 14 Stone (196 Lbs/89 Kilos)

I completed a 5K run yesterday in stifling 27 degree heat at 8pm with no breeze. Will do the same again today :)

By BMI is now 26.3 and my weight has dropped below 90 Kilos weighing in at 89.8 Kilos.

My next targets are a BMI below 26 and I am also only 2 Lbs away from reaching the 14 Stone mark.

Just to remind myself and share the things that are working for me.

1. No milk - I have swapped tea in my milk for soy milk and have for a long time now used sweetener instead of sugar
2. I now have a fruit tea or green tea instead of a normal cuppa once a day
3. Drink lots of water - the first thing I do each morning is drink a pint of water to hydrate.
4. Chocolate is a luxury. I fancied chocolate yesterday and I had a couple of small pieces but only after I had run 5 km. The time I had chocolate before that was June 10th - my anniversary.
5. No alcohol Monday-Friday. There's no need. Saying that I did have a glass of Pimm's at a barbecue on Monday. Breaking the rules is an exception rather than the norm.
6. Eat breakfast - I have fruit or cereal or a combination of the two every day.
7. Bread is no longer part of my daily diet. I have probably had toast on a handful of occasions in the past 9 weeks and I no longer view a sandwich as a quick fix.
8. Plan meals - we have enough healthy food pre-prepared (warm salads, pasta, couscous, roasted vegetables) that we're not stuck for ideas during meal-times
9. Eat more chicken. I have reduced my red meat intake and eat more leaner chicken.
10. Work out every day - whether it's 10 mins, 15 mins, 30 mins - do a little to make you sweat each day.
11. Eat food I enjoy. I don't like soup or diet foods so for me this is not a diet but a lifestyle change and the reason why diets fail is because they're temporary and force people to eat food they don't enjoy.
12. I weigh myself everyday. I need to know what I am doing is working and when it goes wrong I want to be able to correct it rather than ignore it.
13. Share with others my goals, achievements.
14. Don't get down - these are not short term measure but things that are meant to help me live a longer and healthier life and examples I can set for my kids
15. Don't let others words get me down - people are critical and will make comments - use them as motivation

So many goals met :hurray: good luck on the 14 stone mark

I don't know if its the stifling heat that i am running in or that I'm sweating a lot during the night but the pounds are shedding. After my 4 mile run yesterday and getting on the scales this morning here are the results

1. By BMI is 25.89 (yay below 26)
2. My weight is 13 stone 13 Lbs (yay below 14 stone)

Day 66
Starting weight: 231 Lbs
Current weight: 195 Lbs
Target weight: 176 Lbs
Loss to date: 36 Lbs
Left to lose: 19 Lbs

Another 5 km (3.1 mile) run yesterday in just over 30 mins. I am not too fussed at the pace at the moment as the heat and lack of breeze is making me tire pretty quickly. That was my 3rd consecutive run this week and 4th in all this week. Will go for another 5km run today.

BMI of 25.8

Thank you both for your messages!

Saturday was a rest day but Sunday morning I got up and did a 5 mile run at 8am. At. My lowest weight over the weekend I weighed 13 Stone 12 (194 Lbs) and am currently 196 Lbs.

Race day tomorrow. There are approximately 150 runners expected and judging by the last 5K race that took place among this group finish times vary between 16 (fast) and 37 mins (very slow) with the majority finishing in 20-22 mins. The majority of runners are members of local running groups. Non-club members like myself the times are around the 26-27 min mark.

I would like to finish in a time of 25-26 mins but that would mean shaving almost 3 mins off my previous best 3 mile time. For me the most important thing tomorrow is taking part and trying my best.

Day 70 (10 weeks since I started)
Starting weight: 231 Lbs
Current weight: 194 Lbs
Current BMI: 25.74
Target weight: 176 Lbs
Loss to date: 37 Lbs
Left to lose: 18 Lbs
