My progress towards 176 Lbs

No change on the scales this morning. 194 Lbs.

Breakfast: Fruit and cereal
Lunch: Fishfinger sandwich
Dinner: Chicken
 
My unofficial time for the 5km was 26 mins 52 according to the app on my phone - will see what the actual recorded time is when the results come in. Feel sore for the first time after a run - not surprising considering I ran 3 mins 28 secs faster than my previous 5k time, which I set yesterday.

Official time was 26 min 50 secs and placed me in 128th position of 153 runners. I'm very happy with that. This was no fun run and by the looks of it 95% of the runners were part of a running or athletics club and very fit. The next race organised by the same group is next month and again a 5k and I would like to finish in the Top 100 which may mean shaving another 3 mind off my time.
 
At the moment I am running every day. I'm a creature of routine and habit and so I have had 1 rest day in the last 8 days.

Monday - 4 miles
Sunday - 5 miles
Saturday - Rest day
Friday - 3.1 miles
Thursday - 4 miles
Wednesday - 3.1 miles

Running is the only exercise I am doing at the moment and I enjoy it. Most days it's the only time I leave the house (I work from home).

So I will hopefully continue with running 5-6 days a week and use my performance at the races to really benchmark myself against other runners. My last race before yesterday was a 10 mile in 2008 and I would do 1 charity run a year before that but nothing like now.
 
No weight loss thus far this week. Scales show this morning that I am still 194 Lbs but they are showing a small decline in my BMI (down to 25.68).

Weekend update:

Saturday - 4 mile run in the morning. I struggled a bit having had 2 rest days and also got a niggling pain in my hip since exerting myself at the race last week. BBQ in the afternoon and lots of beer at a big family get-together which went on till 2am.

Sunday - rest, recover day and 3 hour drive back home. Niggling pain in my hip means I am walking a little gingerly after getting up.

Feel I need to go for at least a 4 mile run today. Wife's parents coming over for a Pizza BBQ later today. Vowed not to eat any more meat this week.
 
Wow, you are training well, running nearly every day is great.
If your hips playing up though then don't be down on yourself for 2 rest days. Better to rest than really injure yourself.
 
Thanks I have been resting all week now. My last run/exercise was Saturday. My hip is still sore and I can feel it when getting up and walking.

May go for a walk/jog later today depending on how I feel.

Have been forced to take a break from the Forum by work commitments, family life, my injury and my daughter's 3rd birthday party (tomorrow) :)

Back running again but, only gingerly. Did 2.5 miles on Monday and 3 miles yesterday.

Will post a weight and BMI update tomorrow.

Have now lost 78% of the weight I originally set out to lose. Unless I lose another 12 Lbs in the next week :) I will miss out on the target I set myself at the beginning but I am not focusing on that.
 
I am back running again after my 3 week gap.

Hips are still not 100% but added another 3 mile run yesterday - taking me to 8.5 miles this week.

Been selling all my old 'fat' clothes on Ebay and haven't bought any new until I get down to 176 Lbs. I still have clothes from 10 years ago which are beginning to fit me again now.
