My personal 6-month challenge

So, like the tv show X-Weighted, I'm giving myself a 6 month challenge to lose 25 lbs.
I wanted to take my measurements today so that I have something to look back on. Also, I should note I'm on WeightWatchers. I joined in January and had gone from 175 to 169 (the day before my wedding) but then we went on our honeymoon and I came back to weigh in at 176. But sticking with Weightwatchers and doing pretty good.

So my measurements today:
Chest-41
Waist-33
Abdomen - 40
Hips-44.5
Thighs-24.5

Anyway, just a quick first diary entry, as I have to make breakfast and get dressed now. Looking forward to a great day and hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

So I had to have a head and shoulders shot for the newspaper I work for, as they were making up an ad to introduce staff. Of course I was scared. Whenever I see a photo of myself it's like a reminder that I am actually fat and not as thin as I feel.
KNow what I mean?
I guess for me I still feel small and well, seeing photos or video footage just kind of brings me back to reality. It makes me think "geez, that's how I look. How could I have let myself go this much!?"
In some ways it's a motivator, in other ways it beats up my self-esteem.

These days I'm trying to use it as a motivator. Ever since the wedding, when I knew I'd have a zillion photos of my floating around and posted on facebook, I just had to gulp and accept that right now I'm not my ideal weight, but one day I'll look at a photo of myself and think "damn, I'm hot! I love my body so much and all this hard work was worth it."

I digress, the photo of me actually turned out pretty good and I think I look rather pretty.

On a bad note, we ate out for lunch today. However, this was my only "eating out" meal this week and if for some reason we have to go out again (we're visiting family for easter weekend and they like to take us out) then it will be salad and something lean.

Speaking of easter, I'm allowing myself to indulge in a bit of chocolate (and I mean only a bit!), but I'm also going to indulge in some nice long walks!

hello and welcome:)

I'm also doing weight watchers! well I hope that you reach all of your goals..GL to you

Oooooh Newlyweds!!! Welcome aboard the weight loss train (heh) and to your journal.

Congratulations on your new marriage, and on working on a newer healthy lifestyle. You will learn great things from this place and have lots of motivators if you take to time to read some of the stickied posts and amazing stories of others just like us. =)

Glad to have ya!

I was a bit under the weather the other day- had SEVERE cramping in the middle of the night on Thursday and wow, after silently weeping in bed for a bit, my husband realized something was wrong so we went to emerg. I thought I would die at one point. Everything was going dark and just one light was all I could see- finally i mustered all my strength to stay with it and then tell my husband I loved him and my what i was feeling (in case i did die, or pass out, and he needed to tell the doctor).
Well, still don't know what it was- wasn't an etopic pregnancy though, thank god! Going for more tests next week, might be a gallbladder or liverthing, which I'm guessing may be because of my not-great diet.

So, low fat it is! Been eating like a saint since and just am totally turned off of meat, processed foods, crackers, etc. Probably will be back to being a vegetarian.

Anyhoo, just got back from a 2.3 km run/walk. Took me 19 minutes, not too bad I think. Have a route worked out and will see how much I can increase my time over the next few weeks. Want to work up to 5 km.

So I'm sore

But damn, feels good!

My hubby and I have hit the gym three days in a row, and will continue to hit it, probably about 6 times a week.

The scale hasn't budged yet, but feeling more energetic and liking how my pants are zipping up a bit easier. I kind of gave up on the weight watchers for now. My credit card is maxed and I guess my last payment wasn't processed, but well, I kind of feel better just doing this my way. No freakin' counting every thing I eat and just watching my portion sizes.

When we get home from the gym in the evening the last thing I feel like is dinner, so lately it's been smoothies or salads. And then usually later in the evening I'll have some "smart pop" popcorn or airpopped and dry. Been making sure I eat more fruits and veggies during the day. And I gave up meat again.

I was a vegetarian for 10 years and this past year I started eating meat again and well, 25 lbs later, um, maybe it's the meat? AllI know is after that horrible night last week I just don;'t want fatty meat inside me. I may have fish every now and then though.

K, off to work now! Just started a new position in my company yesterday. I'm liking it- I mean, no more writing and being creative, but I like the desk job stuff.
