My New Routine - - Feedback Needed

This is my lower body routine which I've done a couple times.
Lower Body
Stationary Lunge
Stiff-Leg Dead Lift
Calf Raise
Abs
Squats

However, I can't stand doing lunges are they really that beneficial. I always end up hurting myself, there so uncomfortable. I can never get threw all 3 sets because their so uncomfortable. What exercise can I substitute instead of doing lunges because I was taught how to do lunges from an Exercise DVD and I think I'm pretty bad at them and i'm going to end up hurting myself.

If someone could recommend a good lower body routine that I could do with just dumbells and a bench it would be great. Also, should I try that thing where I hold myself up against my wall for 2 minutes?
 
try step ups, they use the same muscle and put less strain on the forward knee and require a bit less balance
 
Yay LV posted I agree with your totally. Point is guys in about a weeks time i'll be out of school for a month with nothing to do. Therefore I wanted to exercise at least 3 hours per day. Thus why I have so many exercises listed.

So i'm thinking 1.5 hours strength training and 1.5 hours cardio. Now for cardio i'll switch it up. Maybe 45 minutes on the bowflex treadclimber. 30 minutes stationary bike. 15 minutes jump rope or something.

I just need a lot of stuff to do too fill my time because its basically going to be exercising for me all vacation with little else going on. No job or anything like that.

And taking your advice i'll do all my cardio in the morning and my strength training in the evening. THe middle of the day I have nothing to do so i'll probably just work on my hand eye coordination by playing xbox 360 and pc video gamios.

45 minutes of fasted morning cardio is plenty granted your diet is in check.

Anything over that you will risk the chance of losing lean muscle tissue.

Just confirmed. :)

I would say to put the squats first and make sure that you have deadlifts in there as well, whether on the same day or a seperate day. Also, you should not just be throwing lower body in there once a week, you really should be working both parts equally.
