i am new here, on january 27 i will be 25 years old.
i don't want to look back at the years i should have been having fun and enjoying myself, when i'm not.
i weigh 89.1kgs as of this morning. this is the most i have ever weighed, just.
i have always staggered around the 80kg mark, but as i not have an office job, it doesn't help.

i don't really know what i am going to do to change this.
from september last year i went to the gym every night after work.
i cut out soft drink to just weekends and tried my best to eat heathly.
i even went to the doctor to get blood tests as i was not losing any weight.
the blood tests came back normal.

also turning 25, i want to get the toxic people out of my life.
maybe it will be the year when all dreams come true.

i don't want to just diet, because i don't eat too badly.
so i don't know what options i have.

my first protocol is my portion plate, i'm going to start using this for lunch and dinner.

all i know is i cannot feel the way i have this summer, wearing tights because i can't bear the sight of my legs.

peace.
xx.

Hi warntine,

goodluck on your journey to losing weight:) Make sure you come on this everyday and write in your diary, it helps keep you motivated:)

Do you know if you have any medical issues like a thyroid problem? Or maybe you're not drinking enough water? Getting enough fibre?? Or maybe you're still eating too many calories? There's got to be something that's hindering your progress. I wish you all the best of luck. I know how badly you want to be able to wear shorts and feel comfortable in them because that's exactly how I feel. I'm Aussie too but currently living in the USA and since living here, my eating habits have been dreadful. Coming from Darwin to here where there are fast food places everywhere, I guess I've been on a crazy eating frenzy and it's been 10 years!

Hey from another Aussie

If you don't know where you are going wrong, counting calories and recording everything you eat are really the best two things you can do to start... It's pretty eye opening when you start where you're going wrong. I use a program called fitday, I know other people on the site use heaps of different ones... I plan all my food a day ahead, so I know how much I can eat, and how much of a calorie deficit I'll have. Also if you're using a program it counts everything for you.

Good luck on your weight goals, I have no doubt with a heap of determination you'll get there!! I weighed around 85kgs several years ago and it feels like you have forever to get to where you want to go... just put in your head that time is going to pass whether you're losing weight or not. In 6 months time you can be close to your goal, or you can be where you are now. Whether you're making little changes or big changes, it's all getting you closer to where you want to be!

AIRISHPRINCESS; thanks I will try to remember to write everyday and hopefully to stay modivated!!

JENSOCCER; the problem I have is more so with the doctors, we have, shall I say, quite a number of multicultural doctors that barely speak english. I went in regarding weight loss and got placed on the pill which I told the doctor would make me gain weight and have mood swings! Which it did. I guess I need to just start eating really healthy and hoping for the best :) what part of usa do you live in, I've always wanted to move there.

LUZDAFUZZ; that's probably the most modivating quote; I'm going to put that on my modivation wall. You're exactly right... I can be this size forever, or I can start now and in 6 months be where I want to be. I have taken your advice and am writing down what I eat. :)

Aso... its been 3 days of eating healthy and i have not done any excercise.
i started on monday at 89.1 and am currently 87.9.
i am not one to weigh myself more than once a week but i did need some modivation.
starting back at the gym tonight and actually looking forward to it.

i want to aspire to lose 4kgs a month.
i know last time i lost the weight i lost 20kg in only two months.
the reson i put it back on was i got a partner..

yesterday i ate special k for breakfast with a splash of light milk.
i had an apple and an orange for snacks, as well as a special k snack bar.
i had a small portion of chicken curry... which i know isnt the healthest...
with a whole half plate of vegetables.

lots and lots of water as well....

im excited about change. i have alot of clothes just awaiting me.

:)
