My Journey to a Leaner Me!

Today was an average day at work. It's been cold and rainy which I love when I'm home and don't have to go outside but not when I have to go to work, etc. But I'm home now....yay!
I walk/ran 35 min on the treadmill at 5:00 am

As for nutrition, since Im not really following real plan, Im trying to get equal amts of protein and carbs in each meal..my meals today were:

M1: turkey/scrambled ew/ww bread
coffee w/ ff half & half

M2: pumpkin/cottage cheese concoction
(1/2 c canned pumpkin 1/2c cc; 2tbsp sf pudding)

M3: grilled chicken
pita bread
lettuce tomato

M4: 1 slice ww bread with 1tbsp peanut butter

M5: brown rice/sauteed shrimp/mushrooms

M6: ? (prob skim w/ cinnamon oatmeal protein powder)

my water intake was bad...I had a diet ginger ale and some crystal lite..gotta work on the water!

well that's it for today...Im gonna watch Biggest Loser and call it a nite! have a great nite all!
 
I haven't been to Orchard Beach in years! (don't wanna scare anyone in my bikini! lol.) I live and work in Queens but my sis works in the Graybar Bldg on Grand Central! I belong to a gym here in Queens but I haven't gone in months! maybe we can meet in the City one day for a guest workout.

your meals sound great! I love to cook and am very creative in the kitchen (a little too much as can be seen by the size of my butt!) I make and freeze alot of stuff too...makes life easier when I get home...I have a slow cooker and that's pretty good too...carne guisada, pollo guisado:drool5:delish! just takes a little planning.

Huney you should see some of the women there at the beach, you'd be looking just fine no matter what :rofl:. I used to look pretty good a few years ago when I went all the time, but I haven't been able to get this weight off after having the baby (she's now 20 months). So now we do the picnic family/friends thing in the grass pretty often. That's fun too, but the best thing is the concerts. All different age groups drinking, playing instruments, dancing and enjoying the music in the hot sun.

I definitely need some more recipes from you. Especially in the slow cooker. I have one but I dont know how to make anything that comes out good.

We're truly not gonna look really hot and curvy unless we go, so get going :hurray:. As for me, I'm still coughing whenever I walk around (though I'm fine without exercise) so I've still got my excuse. :rolleyes:
 
hello everyone! so I didnt get up early enough to work out today. I really like working out in the early a.m. b/c my day just goes so much better, more energy and I get more done, better mood, etc... I think Im gonna give the New Rules of Lifting for Women (NROLW) a try as far as my workout. I've had the book but hadn't really looked at it. It's based on supersets...here a link for anyone who might be curious...

Im gonna try and do some form of cardio tonight (a video or the treadmill) and I'll post my meals later.
 
I am totally with you on the working out in the AM thing. I unfortunately only do it on days that I am off from work b/c I value my sleep wayyyyyyyyy to much to get up an extra hour to workout :).....but I do have a whole lot more energy when I do!!!!

Hi Everyone....
I've been MIA...I just can't seem to get my sh*t together in terms of weight loss and each day that passes and I do nothing about it, it gets worse. I weighed myself yesterday and Im upset (189lbs!!!) but I have no one to blame but myself. It seems Im now suffering from anxiety/panic attacks, sleep apnea/insomnia and high cholesterol. I cant believe how low I've come!! But, today is a new day and I do have so much to be grateful for in other areas of my life so Im not a total waste! lol...

I've decided to start slow. This weekend was gorgeous (at least Sat. was) and I walked 3 miles at my local park and again yesterday. I premade my meals yesterday and did pretty good. Im really trying to eat 5-6 meals a day that include carbs/protein/fats. I dont want to just lose and be flabby. Tonight Im gonna try to do HIIT on the treadmill and take it from there.

Hey! Just stopping by here. I love your username~ it makes so much sense to me. Please stay persistent, trust me, the work you have to do to lose weight, and keep it off, is going to be hard so stay strong! It will all be worth it at the end

Hey Clarivel, welcome back :). I'm having the same problems. I've been trying so hard yet I just GAINED a few pounds (I had 2450 calories yesterday so that didn't help matters). Its so discouraging! But what can we do but get back on the horse again. I'll be going to the gym this afternoon for a start. TTYL :)
 
yeah, Im striving for a "leaner me"...lol..you're so right about staying strong but the mind is such a traitor sometimes!...I see you're making some progress...congrats!

well Im back, sort of...I've been so busy and these damn allergies are really messing me up!! I have no energy.. I have managed to lose 6 pounds!! so Im really happy about that! each day is a struggle in the weight dept for me!
 
Congratulations on the WL mami! That is excellent news! So what have you been doing to get the weight off??

I wish you lived in my hood so we could work out together. I mean we're closer than most people on the forum, but shiat you know how hard it is to get around this bitch [of a city]. And my car is in the shop cuz some idiot hit me so I'll be sticking around home this weekend AGAIN [and probably eating out of boredom AGAIN].
 
lol..so true about the city! but maybe we can get together one day soon.
I've kind of been doing a cross breed b/w Body for Life and WW. Im trying to eat 5-6 times a day which is hard for me b/c its healthy food (if it was cupcakes 6x's a day then I'd be set! lol..) but I've really cut out soda and sweets.
