My interestingly named Journal

:)

Another 1.2 pounds down since I last made an entry .. a whole pound this morning, .2 of a pound the day before that! I guess I'll enter the slowing down phase now but I've got 12 lbs off quickly and that's a great boost. Doesn't show of course but it's still all good.

Didn't mention yesterday but yesterday I actually joined my local leisure centre on a one week trial .. can't really afford a monthly membership but a week was fifteen quid which was good. It's got a pool, a gym, classes, lots of other exercise equipment and all the usual stuff. So I went swimming yesterday and again this morning for half an hour each time. Will try to go most days this week. Once the week expires I guess it will be back to long walks lol.

Yay for the pound gone, and the free week membership! Congrats on that, and keep up the awesome work :D

Hi from Canada!
I am very sorry to hear that your relationship ended. It is so painful having your heart broken. But I must say, your response has been exceptional - using it as a catalyst to get fit! You sound very motivated and like you are approaching things wisely. Keep us posted, and be kind to yourself while your heart mends.

Cheers:eh:

Been swimming for the last four days and have just hit the one stone lost mark! that's fourteen pounds to Americans :). It's gone very fast and I know that this won't keep up but it's a great start. If I can lose about 8 lbs a month from now on, that will be great.

Just checking in to say that I am still going .. three weeks yesterday! Weight loss still a stone.. am pleased :)

Fish fingers for dinner ;)

Another pound down this morning ... weight had been static for a couple of days so that's good. That's about 15 in total though three of those were already off before I officially started. It's a lot for the time I've been going though. Guess the slow down will happen soon.

okay it IS working, yay!

Oh man I didn't know my BMI before tho :(. 40?? That puts me into the superobese category or something, doesn't it? *wilts*

I had lost another one point six pounds today, which was good but also slightly puzzling .. 2.6 in two days? That's a lot. Is it safe? I had not lost any for a couple of days before that but still :)

Was worried that it might be dehydration so I've been drinking lots of water today :)

Hey you... just dropping in to see how you're doing. I read from the beginning of your journal and was looking for your stats, but maybe I'm just blind and didn't see them. haha Are you still eating 1200-1300 calories? Once again.... bugger that right below a BMI of 40. :D I'm sure you'll feeling so much better about yourself right now. Also.. as for the guy who dumped you. His loss. ;) Wishing you all the best, girl.

Thanks :). Am on up to 1400 cals per day right now .. just wouldn't feel comfortable on anymore to be honest. i don't feel hungry though and I don't feel as though I am depriving myself and it seems to be working so .. it will do for now :).

How's yourself? :)

You just becareful, shrinking lady. ;) You don't want to go to low, because although you may be "comfortable" food wise, your body might think something else and hold on to whatever weight it can aka Starvation Mode. That's when everything will stop and you've hit a plateau. And lord knows, girl.. we don't ever want to say the "P-word." haha I'm going to be dropping in on you a lot more often to say hello and whatnot. You're doing an awesome job, girly.

Hello everyone! I haven't been able to post for a few days, kept getting error messages :). I am down to 223.6 .. am pleased :D. Bought myself an exercise bike as it's my birthday tomorrow.

Thanks :) am having a good day. Been swimming. Not doing much now, just sipping a g and slimline t and doing a bit of net surfing :)

Hi

Firstly - I hope that you had a great birthday yesterday.

I have just read through your diary from the start and think it really impressive how you have used a break-up to drive you to lose weight instead of piling into the comfort food and making a bigger problem to face. You probably saved yourself the job of losing an extra couple of stones. They can so easily pile on when the need for comfort food hits.

You were kind enough to reply to my first ever post on the 100 pound club a couple of weeks ago - but I tried and couldnt PM when I tried.

Anyway - I am in touch now as I found your diary.

I too am not a member of a gym. They are really expensive. I spend ages walking each day. I see that you go on walks too.

Do you have a pedometer? They are inexpensive and I have found mine to be the most useful thing ever. It is the best thing that I have bought in ages.

Best wishes
Margaret

Hello! Sorry for not replying before, I've been having connection issues again :). I've got a pedometer but don't use it much as it isn't terribly accurate, I've noticed :). I walk a fair bit though!

Anyway I am down to 222 lbs now .. must update my ticker, I am so lazy! How are you doing?

Hi

Well done for getting down to 222 pounds. It is always great to see a loss.

I am doing fine thanks. I weigh myself every day - so I know generally whether things are going down or up. Things are heading in the right direction for me too. I have started to take measurements because I have hit quite a few plateaus over the months and sometimes you get a measurement loss even when there is no weight loss.

I know what you mean about pedometers. We bought three before I found one that I liked. My pedometer comes from Weight Watchers. It was recommended to me by a friend who goes to WW and she bought it at a meeting on my behalf. I havent joined WW as I had a failed attempt with them 11 years ago.

A word of warning - I found (being a larger lady) that I had to wear a reasonably supportive bra. When I first got it I was wearing one of my less supportive bras (I had shrunk out of it a bit) and my boobs hung low and acted as a shock absorber. All the steps were not detected. It was easy enough to tell when it was working reasonably accurately. I do a very similar walk most days and I have measured the distance with the car tripometer. The distance calculated on that walk should be very similar to the measurement in the car. Also I made a note for a couple of weeks on the start and end stepcount for that same walk (so the difference - therefore the stepcount for the isolated walk could be deduced). Although you do not always get exactly the same number (because a six mile walk is never identical step-wise) you do get a number which is basically similar.

The really good thing about my pedometer is that it challenges me to walk a little bit further. I am sure that I would walk a lot less over the course of a day if I didnt have the pedometer.

Take care.

Best wishes
Margaret

Hehehe yeah I hear you about bras :). I am a bit worried about what is going to happen to my breasts when I get to my target weight but oh well, can't worry about that now.

220.8 this morning!
