Well, I went off to college with an open mind about defeating the odds and actually losing weight during my first semester of college. And...I gained about 15 pounds. Sounds familiar, right?
So now I am at the beginning of my second semester here at Witt, and I have been doing somewhat decent for the last week. Well, no, let me rephrase that...I have been doing better than I was in the first semester, which still isn't too much of an accomplishment since I would literally eat like 3 plates per meal. Cafeterias suck.
But like I have said before in the many, many diaries of my past...I won't dwell on the negatives. Instead I am looking forward to losing weight. Honest. I have that feeling, like I'm ready for whatever gets thrown in my path.
Okay, so let's see. I am 19, around 145 (haven't weighed myself recently but will tonight), 5'4". I play soccer at my college, which should have been reason enough to keep the weight off, but I used it more as an excuse to eat a lot, like "Oh, I played 4 minutes in my game tonight. I'm sure I can eat 5 more pieces of pizza and be fine." Yeah, whatever. Right now I am working out around 5 days a week. My workouts are so inconsistent, however, because we are starting up our "post season," and I don't really know the routine yet. Just for a general guide though...
Monday - 35 minutes on ellipticals, 20 on treadmill
Tuesday - Sprinting, basketball drills as a team, Indoor soccer game (approx. 20 mins of intense playing)
Wednesday - 15 minutes on bikes, then a body builder type of lift that my coach has so gratefully made for us.
Thursday - Team Run
Friday - 35 minutes on ellipticals, 20 on treadmill
Saturday and Sunday are hard for me. I haven't yet figured them out, but I'm trying.
So...that's my workout routine...kinda. Diet has been a little all over the place. I don't eat breakfast, which I know is bad, but I just don't have time in the mornings. Lunch. Monday, Wednesday, Friday it is a southern fried chicken spinach wrap (not the best, but better than pizza), lowfat potato chips, a cookie, and a bottle of water. Tuesday, Thursday it varies. Sometimes a sandwich, sometimes soup, a salad. It all depends on what the cafeteria is serving. Weekends have been terrible so far, so as this weekend approaches I want to plan out what I will eat ahead of time.
I wish I could say more in this first post, but I have stuff I need to do, but I will be back later tonight to talk about the rest of my day.
