yeah hun.
umm, uless your're like 4"11, you shouldnt be weighing under 100 pounds.

you need to eat!

height?
weight?
exercise regimen?

What is the motivation for your goal weight? Whats happening right now is that you are starving your body, which, in the long run is going to damage it and it will be bigger hell trying to get out of the hole you create for yourself. There is a way to lose weight-if one needs to-but its not by starvation in fact its totally the opposite. For your height you are already boarderline underweight. Thats why I ask what the motivation for further weight loss is. What does a typical week of exercise and food look like for you?

my fitness diary:why i want to lose weight

ive always been the "fat girl"
and to my family it was always "chubby"
and when i lost a little weight everyone was like oh youre so pretty and skinny.
so if i get skinnier ill be prettier
and ill be better than my mean cousin
who always pointed out every single thing i wore ate or did.
but now im gonna be be better cause shes getting fatter.

i used to weigh 125
now im 104

yeah it sounds dumb
but to me its important

Hey Steff,

Remember that you don't have to post a new thread each time you reply. just go back to the thread you already started and "reply" to it, it will post under the last person who posted and create a running dialoge. Its a little confusing at the beginning :)

I get your reasons behind your weight loss motivation. That might surprise you because some other people here are NOT going to understand you and you may get some crap for it. I get it because I have been down the road you are embarking on and let me just tell you from someone who has travelled it far...its not as glamorous as you may think it is.

Bear with me as I use an illustration about what happens to someone searching for beauty and meaning in their appearance. Who feels more "worthy" when people notice them and feel they have to go to extra exremes to prove that worth.

It is a journey down a long long road:

You will get a ways down that road and at first it'll be great. The sun will be out, you'll feel happier than ever and people notice you making the compliments extra fuel to continue. After a while of this you will find that it will become darker and darker as you travel. You will realize that the "exit" signs begin to become less and less available and everything always looks the same. People may still notice you but some of their comments turn into concern and disgust. You may continue for a while thinking the end of the road is just "over the hill" or "around the corner" but you know Steph, there IS just NO end. None. It goes forever. There will be some point where you just stop in the middle of that road and look around the darkness. Not sure where to go or if you should stop. Afraid to go back, but too tired to keep moving forward. That will be a SUCKY day.

Your drive for thinness is in response to your cousin or to prove to your family you are valuable because you are "thin". First off, who defines beauty? Society has brainwashed females into thinking the only way to be acceptable is to look like Kate Moss or other ultra skinny models. You are depending on your environment to define your worth. what about YOU. What makes you confident about yourself? What do you do well?

Second of all, do you really think that once you get to the magical number your weight troubles will be over? no way. You may get to 90 pounds, but its totally unnatural for you to BE at 90 pounds and you will have to be more drastic than you already are to maintain your weight loss. You will have to dive to measures that promote massive destruction to your body for the long term. All in the name of weight loss. Try telling that to your future husband as you both long for children someday.

Third of all. The way you are eating right now is one of an anorexic. Have you ever in your life met a happy anorexic? I am willing to bet (and of course could be wrong) that if you eat you feel guilty. That exercise is your way of "cleaning" your system of the guilt and you rely on it to feel "ok".
This is at least how I operated, and by the way, my diet at that point was similar to yours.

This may all sound VERY harsh and maybe even mean. I do not mean for it to be mean at all. Harsh, well, yeah, because it is. My story in a nutshell: I weighed 84 pounds at 5'2, was hospitalized for 3 weeks, forced to eat massive amounts of food to gain weight, and went through tremendous HELL in the process of "getting better". It is NOT worth it and I vowed at that time (I was 14-15 too) that if I could ever prevent someone from traveling that road I would.

Think about what you are doing girl. Please consider healthy goals like toning your already thin body which will add sexy muscle, burn more calories and give you an even thinner appearance (even if the scale doesn't show it). I am around 130 pounds. You may have just gone  . lol. I'm now 5'6 and I'm a die hard athlete. I love the way my body feels when working out and I love a challenge. But I eat. I eat to fuel my exercise and my body responds with lower body fat, lean muscle and people who know me tell me I must not weigh over 115. I wear a 4 in most pants. Muscle does wonders.

Just think long and hard about what you're considering, its all I ask. If you ever want to chat, PM me. I'm always open to that. :D Thanks for reading.

Take care~Katie

Welcome, steff!

Basically everything what Sparrow has posted pretty much said all the important points. ;)

And if someone still tell you that you are chubby or fat at 104 (unless you are like 3' tall), then don't listen to them. Obviously not a reliable source for critics - if that can be called criticism.

I am 5'2" and weight about 105 or so. Still considered underweight by some standard. I don't aim to loose any weight at all, but I strive to be FITter. The result? I maintain my weight, but amazingly my body is shaping up and I look better than ever!
Same pants I have been wearing actually feel different. I look 'skinnier' if you will, by just being healthier and more fit. How and why?

... ... I eat. I eat to fuel my exercise and my body responds with lower body fat, lean muscle... Muscle does wonders.

Please read what other people gone through before you slip onto a tough road of ED. This is just one example:

Perhaps you should start thinking in different terms. As suppose to FAT, start thinking about how to get FIT, and healthy. ;)

Don't feel like you are getting shot down, just because we are pointing out different things than your cousins. Feel free to post any other concerns and questions and we all will do our best to help and support you.

Best of Luck!
-Kt.

Steff, you are human, not fish. Get something to eat other than water! ;)
Sure, starvation will make you loose weight, just like people in famine ravished countries. Thing is, how long can you last starving yourself? I am sure you want to live and enjoy your life, right?

Seriously though. You gotta eat. It may sound mental to hear the advice: Eat in order to loose weight. Well, in your case, should be more about maintaining.

I'm also 5-2 and about the same weight as you. And at that same weight, I managed to improve my body by exercising and eating properly.
My suggestion for you is to workout ~ NOT excessively ~ and start EATing. Trust me. I eat more (often) than ever, happier than ever, got lots of energy, and I look healthier & skinnier than ever!

Sparrow posted a very good insight in your other thread. Please read it.
I hope you can find it within yourself to see your situation more objectively.
And you can PM me if you want, I will be more than happy to support and share my experience with you.

sweetheart, you really need to be eating.
about five or six times a day.
smaller portions.
if you do that, and exercise, not only are you goiing to look good, but with your exercise, you're going to be so healthy.

I'm sorry that ur family makes you feel like that.
we're all her for you in the forum, but you really need to eat.
If you're already in the habit of working out that much, that's good.
But you need to be taking in a lot more food than you are
try some boiled chicken and steamed veggies.
its good tasting, and great for you.
cheer up kiddo.

Wow D! You are more blunt than I am. (I was trying to convey the same thing but I guess too subtle). XD

Steff, you felt energized from the pepsi. But that is only a short boost. Not gonna last. We are trying to help you for the long run, not just by the minute. And we are trying to direct you to be alive and healthy and look damn good.

Is that you in the avatar? You are a pretty girl. Don't ruin what you have.
And in case you think that people in this forum are a bunch of fat-asses who need to loose weight, and just jealous at your 'self-determination', well, read more posts.
Like I said, I am at your stat now. And I can tell you we are not FAT. You may need to be fitter - and that doesn't mean loosing weight - and you could, just gotta go about it the right way without killing yourself.

I used to be skinnier, and I am talking about swimming in a size 0 pants. But you think having: bad skin complexion, sunken eyes, dark and sunken eyes, always look tired and hagard, and sickly, not to mention looking 10 years older worth it? or attractive?
You have to stop obsessing about weight.

If you still think you are right and all of the people here with their real success stories - we are not talking commercial here - just talking bull, then you gotta see a counselor. Get help. The sooner the better.

Ok Steff, you gotta listen to these ladies. They are SMART and know exactly how to get the look you are wanting. Heck, I'm a dietitian and don't have any conflicts with anything they say. THEY ARE RIGHT ON TRACK!!! Please listen to them and improve yourself instead of destroying yourself. We can help if you let us. Greg

Holy hell, I hope we didn't run her off. This girl needs our help. I hope she is still checking out the thread. Steff, baby (not detrimental), come back to us. Has anyone PM'd her? Sparrow, you said you've been down that road, will you please try, I'll owe ya one. Thanks, Greg
