New format. Hmmm well let's see how this goes...
I have had a very eventful week to say the least. Many lows and highs and I am doing my best to feel balanced. Lets start with the lows to get them out of the way:
Lost power for 2+ days from Saturday till Tuesday due to some bad rainstorms. I'm pretty patient but that was a long time to go without heat and such. Glad it's over! We are so spoiled with everyday appliances by the way.
A friend of mine is quite upset with me. She wanted to get a job where I work and long story short it didn't work out and she blames me. Sometimes mixing work with personal life can be really awful and ram attic. Sometimes it's great. I just struggle when people I dare about feel hurt by me and take things so personally that are part of my job. Good thing I like my job so much! I'm sure it will all work out.
I have gone to the dentist three times in the past week. I'm getting normal procedures by my body is responding in a weird way and the result is expensive side effects. Is just annoying. Don't make the mistake I did and stay away from the dentist for too long!
Only food related low was because the power was out my ice cream melted. I chose to eat it. Throwing away Hagen Daas is a sin.
Now for the good news, thank god!
I leave for Kauai in less than two weeks! My good friend called a few nights ago to tell me she booked a ticket and will be joining me for a week of my trip. I had invited her a while back but never her anything. I'm so toned she's coming. She is a great person to travel with, yet a horrible influence when it comes to food. I have way more self control than the last time we traveled together so I should be fine. I cannot wait for this trip!
I joined my fitness pal about a week and a half ago. So far so good. I'm enjoying the food logging portion and message boards the most. It is great to have a news feed where I can see other people's current progress. I'm so god I made the choice to mix it up, finally. Seeing a bit of progress as well. On Monday I was at 201.5, 2lbs down in my first week. My first mini goal is 198 by the 16th so depending on where I am at today I should have around 3lbs left to lose by then. I plan to make this my focus for the time I have left before the trip. Not much to do at work. Zumba, gym, and yoga will fill my days as well as planning the many day hikes ill be doing in Kauai. Yes!
Bought some new clothes at gap outlet and I saved $256. I got some great stuff and spent around $180 so I did pretty well. New 12 jeans fit like a glove but I'm still a 14 in their unforgiving khakis. I bought a dress. A dress. Whew. Haven't bought one of those since prom. Honestly. That was 13 yrs ago. I'm planning to wear it to two Xmas parties next Saturday and the only thing I am not looking forward to is people being shocked that I'm wearing a dress. It will be fine, I just am pretty shy about that type of attention.
So overall I really can't complain. My life is pretty exciting and there is rarely a dull moment. I am grateful to have a community to share some of these more personal thoughts with. I anyone is on mfp and wants to add me please do! I am cheshire29 on there.
