My fight against junk food and fattiness! (Aiming for 30kilo loss)

Hi, welcome. We are pretty supportive and non-judgmental here, if that makes posting any easier. My diary is very long but I'm nearly back at my starting weight. So don't be afraid, none of us are perfect and we don't expect you to be either.

Thanks you guys! :)

I've gone without junk food for five days now, and I had this insane craving to just eat some chips. I also have a half finished jar of nutella and when I'm working at nights, the urge to just eat it is insane! I should probably give it away to someone because I don't know how much my resistance will last.

Somehow I managed to hold off chips though and eat scrambled eggs instead. So pheww. In other news, my exam today went terribly, so that's probably why I even wanted the chips in the first place :\

Sorry to hear about the exam but I take my hat off for you not snacking for 5 days while sitting around studying EVEN THOUGH you have snacks in the house. That's really hard, so well done.

I binged today! Right at breakfast Ate lots of potato, this traditional fried bread dish they make at home, AND some nutella WITH the bread. :( I feel terribly guilty, but I have to work hard at not eating everything else the rest of the day too. So just breakfast, I would've eaten about 900 calories.

Shit happens, Nyzeh. Try to eat healthily for the rest of the day and forget about it. Feeling guilty will only make you stressed and more likely to binge again. None of us is perfect (least of all me), we all mess up sometimes (I did so last night). Hugs if you want them; 900 extra calories means nothing other than that you´ll need two extra days to reach your goal.

I really could use a hug right now so thanks for that! because the urge to eat everything in my sight is just SO strong :( Will do my best, ill see how it goes.

Do you know why you want to overeat right now? Just a blood sugar response to overeating before or are you sad/bored/anxious/angry? If you can: drink a large glass of water, then go for a walk to distract yourself. You CAN do this. Great big hug, LaMa.

My weight goals are these:-
I currently weigh 85kilos (187lbs) which is a LOT because I am a very short girl, just about 164cms tall. My goal weight is 110lbs and my target is by the end of next year; So in 14 months, I seek to lose about 75lbs which I think is realistic if I eat right and exercise dilligently.

I really hope to meet some amazing people on this forum and help each other along the journey!

Thanks for reading to the end :)

First of all, welcome to the forum. I think you've come to the right place. This is a really great place on which to rely when you're in need of some motivation, support, advice or even a kick in the ass. Everyone here is for the same reason - to lose weight and/or get healthy - so we're all pretty encouraging of one another. Like family.

Second of all, I think you can definitely accomplish your goal. However, keep this in mind - laying off the snacks will be extremely hard in the beginning but, as time goes by and you get used to it, it will become easier and easier every step of the way. I've been on many (too many, really) weight loss journeys over the past few years and I have found that the first few weeks are always the hardest. Right now, I'm 32 days into my current attempt at losing weight. At the moment, I am totally fine - I have no hardcore cravings, my attitude is great, my motivation is high, everything is going well. BUT, HAHAHA...the first week or two? It sucked. It was hard, VERY hard. But, it got easier for me. It'll get easier for you too.

So, when you feel weak and want to cave? Come visit the forum, vent a little bit, maybe look through other people's journals and just try to rid yourself of those cravings. It'll get easier though. I promise you.

Thank you :) I did manage to not mess up too much. Not as good as I would've liked too, but certainly not as bad as I could've done.

ChefChiTown Hello! 32 days sounds amazing! This was my 7th day and I almost ate everything I could find. I'm going to listen to you and fight off the cravings for a month and see how I do from then on.

Yeah, just don't overdo it. That's the key. Everything in moderation - even when you're cutting back on stuff. I felt like HELL when I just straight up cut out all carbs and sugars from my diet. But, now that I'm doing it the right way - little by little - I feel great. And, I'm actually pretty used to eating healthy...and enjoy it too.

I'm sending you a big hug, albeit a little bit late. :grouphug: Hang in there nyzeh. You can do this xo

Thank you <3

I managed to stick to my healthy diet today. Didn't go off on a crazy binge despite eating a little off yesterday! My exams will be done this wednesday too, so I'm quite excited for the coming week :D

Great job! We all fall down sometimes, getting up and strutting on is the part that counts. Good luck with your exams, I´m sure you´ll crush it.

I agree with everyone else - good job fighting the crave to binge. One day at a time!!!

Hey, we all have binge moments...in my opinion, you just overcame your first 'healthy living test'. You clued into what you were doing, stopped doing it and kept on going down the healthy path.

You're doing awesome! Hope your exams went well!

I completely disappeared. post my exams because I had to complete a LARGEEEE pending order of crochet since I couldn't do them while the exam was still on. I sell crocheted things to make some money part time, so I had two bags, one scarf and three pencil cases to finish. I got done with a major chunk of it only yesterday and I can't even feel my fingers anymore! The lining is still left for the bags and the cases and so are the various other finishing touches like adding the zipper and things :\ bahhh. Good thing that I like crochet.

I've been eating unhealthily, but i've joined a gym. It's no excuse I agree- but from tomorrow once the work eases up a bit, I'll go back to eating healthy and planning my meals. Hopefully it won't be so bad

I've also gained about two kilos :\

How did your exams go?
eating healthy and planning my meals
Making your healthy top priority will help with every other aspect of your life. There is no reason doing that will be bad. You can do this hon.

Oh, your money-making sideline business sounds so cool. What a creative way to earn some bucks!

You know what? It is so easy when you are busy to give up on the diet. I think the younger you are, the more 'all or nothing' your mindset is. Everything is so black or white, shit food or healthy food, at least it was for me. What helped me was really focusing on those 3 main meals a day. If I snacked in between, that was ok. But just focusing on the basics first. And work from there. I'm still working, don't get me wrong. But stopping the, 'I've had that fatty fried stuff for breakfast, let's keep this train rolling' thing needs to be addressed. Stop the train earlier in the day, if you get me. But well done so far hon!
