My fat-loss-4-idiots diet plan

i don't disagree - any program will work as long as a person uses it - it just has to be used...and nothing is really magic...

Right, you get what I am saying.

Yet, here you have 3 pages of people asking if this 'program' works.

Let me ask everyone this. Does the parameters of the program establish an energy (caloric) deficit?

If so.... then it works*.

*works = very arbitrary metric used by many to describe the efficacy of a 'program' when in reality, it's simply taking one thing into account, and that's the number on the scale. This metric is only a fraction of the 'battle' though, which most programs leave out or half-ass.

Right, you get what I am saying.
While I ain't all that bright and educated about this nutrition stuffs - 19 months and 185lbs I learned one or three things along the way...

Yet, here you have 3 pages of people asking if this 'program' works.
while the question is frustrating to hear over and over again... I couuld insert a very cynical statement here but I'll refrain... :) people want will try anything that might work and if it worked for SusieQ and then they'll give it a go... Not everyone wants to think - they just want something that is proven to work (and yes, I know that use more calories than you take in is proven to work but that can be confusing for a person from the git go...

eh - preaching to the choir...

Meh, I just don't like to see people wasting their money.

Guess I'll be singing a different tune once my business is up and running. But I doubt it, lol.

I understand the whole, "I don't feel like doing the math and leg work myself." Hell, if I didn't understand that, I wouldn't be starting my website. BUT, if you are going to buy into something that eliminates the leg work or thought, don't waste your time on a product/service that makes stupid claims of X lbs in Y days.

I swear, I should flip my cap around and become a self-proclaimed guru with the awesomest program evarrrrrrrrrr!!!!!1111

you'd need a flexing avatar before you got any of my dollars - or a marine uniform - either would work for me...

fast results are better than slow results inmost people's minds - especially when you have tons to lose... cripes i'm 18 months into my project and no where near my goal... slow can be frustrating

Steve's Super Fast Fatloss For F-in Morons:

*women eat between 350-400 calories per day

i especially like the misspellings -very professional looking...

but ya still need a marine in dress uniform or some flexing.. seriously...

Don't you worry, it will come in a pretty package with the most inspirational pictures you've ever seen. Duh, how else am I supposed to move product?

I don't mean to challenge anyone, I am merely looking for some more information for previous statements made.

Aren't all "diets" or "weight loss" efforts a form of a program? I agree that to lose weight you need to make a permanent change in your life style but to do that whether you purchase a document from someone who can tell you how to do it or you get advice from a nutritionist who lays out a meal plan, or a personal trainer who devises a work out regimen, aren't these all programs and part of the program mentality?

I'm really new to all of this and I'm asking these questions out of curiousity and to gain information for myself and not to be a douche and challenge anyone. Obviously, you have a lot more knowledge and experience than I do. Clearly you think it's stupid that I have bought in the propaganda of this particular program and to be honest I felt like an idiot as soon as I did buy it but the money is spent now so I am going to at least try.

Jewels:

I read and went over the website. There are some statements which are categorically false.

***Claim 1: If you begin eating 2,500 calories per day then your metabolism will adjust itself so that your body begins burning 2,500 calories per day.

If you try to starve yourself by suddenly eating 1,000 calories per day then your metabolism will again ADJUST ITSELF so that your body begins to burn only 1,000 calories per day.***

This is false. Many people achieve enduring changes in body weight. If your metabolism was able to adjust itself in such a fashion, it would be the ultimate homeostatic mechanism. Not to mention, people vary greatly in their basal metabolic rate (the rate at which they utilize energy to maintain bodily processes when resting).

***Claim 2: To make this work you need to SHIFT the types of calories eaten as shown in our diet on the next page, and if you do this then your metabolism will burn all of the calories eaten. Then, when it finishes burning those calories it will find the nearest available fat tissue on your body and burn that too...***

This is false. Your body breaks down what you eat and uses a mix of fatty tissues and sugar stores to maintain current activity. Your fat deposits are constantly being used and replaced.

***Claim 3: Of course, in order for this dieting technique to work you also need to eat foods which have been rated "Fat Burning Compatible" -- because the foods you eat must be easy to burn (so that your metabolism will burn them entirely and then switch to burning your fat tissue after that).***

This is complete nonsense. This would completely negate protein because it is easily the macronutrient that takes the longest to digest. If this had any semblence of truth, we'd all be living off candy and baked potatoes.

***Claim 4: It's true, and the only reason why fat tissue is being stored on your body is because your body's fat burning hormones are not being released after each meal in the correct amounts.***

That magic hormone he is speaking of is Glucagon. The problem is eating INHIBITS its release. Changing what you eat doesnt change your glucagon levels. What changes it are your current energy expenditures.

You can't trick your metabolism with different foods. Foods are made up of protein, carbs, and fats.

You mean we can't live on candy and baked potatoes????

Maybe that's what I've been doing wrong. Kidding, obviously.

Thanks for explaining that to me, as someone who is incredibly new to dieting the right way, this information is extremely helpful and valuable to me. Thanks again for taking the time.

Should I even bother?

One other thing. While I appreciate your advice and totally understand what you're saying and how it isn't possible for this program to do what it is claiming, you still haven't responded to how any other diet and exercise regimen is different from a program such as this? Aren't they all just a program of some form or another?

Again, not challenging. I'm just curious to hear anyone's mentality or logic behind that statement.

Well, if you're looking at both "diet" and "exercise" by the definition of what a "program" is, then yes it is. According to Merriam Webster, a "program" is a plan or system under which action may be taken toward a goal. A combination of both diet and exercise will eventually lead to the goal of losing weight. Pretty simple, right?

However, IMO programs such as "Weight Loss 4 Dummies" gives a lot of people high hopes at a cost. They feed people the idea of, "Hey.. this is how you lose weight. It's all in black and white. There's no thinking involved in this program whatsoever. We do it ALL for you. Just follow each step." Hey, if you think it's worth a try, then by all means go on right ahead. (And no, I am not knocking anyone who does decide to try this program.) Personally speaking, I'm one of those people who likes to dabble in the "gray areas" aka think for myself. When it comes to losing weight, it all starts in your mind. If you can't understand and embrace it, your weight loss will be nothing but temporary and you'll end up with yet another dust-collecting "diet book." But hey, to each their own.

Jewels: No problem about the questions. What separates other diet/exercise programs from this one is this:

1. A good exercise/diet program will be tailored to you. There is no one size fits all plan.
2. A good exercise/diet program will NEVER make claims about how much you can lose. A good program (especially that includes exercise) will warn you that increases in muscle mass can often offset fat loss and keep your weight neutral.
3. Good exercise/diet programs dont spend their time bashing other programs; saying stuff like: "all these other programs dont work, but maybe this one does..."
4. Any good weight loss program on the internet will have open forums where people can talk honestly about their experiences.

I mean, if it's on an infomercial it's a gimmick. If it's on a website and tries to sign you up at the end of a presentation, it's a gimmick. Go to programs that aren't gimmicks (even if they might not be the best) like weight watchers. They dont have you click through 4 pages and try and sign you up right after. Same thing with Jenny Craig. They provide you with information and that's all.

Hi i was just wondering about fatloss4idiots diet. Does it make you lose weight or fat? in that are you loosing muscle etc with the fat?

Fat Loss 4 idiots any good?

Hello -

Has anyone ever heard of "Fat Loss 4 Idiots"? It looks like a decent program and I found a but I was wondering if anyone has used it before.

I'm trying to find something really simple, because I really lack the discipline for incredibly strict diets. That is where I have always failed in the past.

Please advise :hat:

Thank you! :cheers2:
Jess
