I am 5'7 and currently 164 pounds. I lost about 50 pounds two years ago on LA weight loss (good program but it's a rip off). I have kept off all the weight since I lost it. Back in Feb I was able to get down to 153. I was in the gym everyday and eating almost nothing it felt like.. I was frustrated and couldnt figure out why I wasn't continuing to lose. I found out in May that I have Hypothyroidism, which effects my metabolism, making me tired and unable to lose weight. I am now on a medicine to stabilize and should be able to see results from working out and making good food choices.
I am here because I think this would be the support I need to stay on track to hit my goal. My boy friend is a foody.. he absolutely loves food! Im not even allowed to cook in the kitchen. I LOVE this and feel so lucky I have a guy that takes care of me! But I can see the affects its having on my body. He is also trying to watch his weight.
Together we go to the gym four nights a week which is going well. I can see that he has lost some weight. I still have not lost any in the last month we have been going. I will also be hiking a mountain about 5 mins from our house in about a week, it's almost cool enough outside. I tried about two weeks ago but thought I was going to have a heat stroke. I am anxious to get to my goal. I hope I can juggle school, working out and my full time night job at the hospital. Plus still finding time to spend with J.

Just found your post in the newbies section and thought I would drop in your diary. That's good that you were diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism (not good that you were diagnosed but good to know what was keeping you from losing weight). Good luck on your weight loss... you can TOTALLY do it!
