My Diary

I'm on day 5 so far, which feels like way more than it is. I haven't settled into a proper routine yet, but have been eating right and exercising.

I'm 5"3, which sucks, cos weight looks worse on a shorter person, (not an excuse, just an unfortunate fact). And i don't think i carry it well anyway. I'm about 12 stone, (168 pounds) although this is a guess as i'm not weighing myself at this point.

My goal weight is about 8.5 stone (119 pounds). Which i've got down to before on the same diet/exercise plan. 50 pounds in 6 months is the plan, April 2012. I guess i'm the epitome of the yo yo dieter. So this is the year of the yo. Not going to give up, cos i know the price of that all too well.

For food i'm eating earlier and more often than i did, switching chocolate and crisps for vegetables and lean meats. I'm getting in an average amount of exercise by running with my dogs but i do think i could be doing more.

I know i shouldn't, but i look in the mirror and expect to see some sort of miraculous difference already. I think i just need to sit tight and give it a month or two.

:)

Day 12! Things have been going ok but i feel that because i'm not weighing myself i don't have accountability in the same way as just waiting for my clothes to feel loser gives me. Clothes are too subjective at this point, i need cold hard evidence that i'm doing the right thing!

So i decided to weigh myself this morning. Not weighed myself in over two years prior and i know that i'd put on some weight. I can't describe the feeling that i had, stepping on those scales this morning, it was almost like i wasn't really there. Sounds like a massive overeaction, but to anyone who's been a while without weighing knows that dreaded feeling.

Anyway, i was suprised. I weigh 158lbs (11st 4). Which is not as bad as i thought. Just kinda wish i'd known what i weighed 12 days ago now, it must have been more cos ive completely changed my diet and started a good amount of exercise.

Just to put things in perspective. (And its brave to put this up here, so don't be negative, i used food as a comfort).

Before

1200 - Subway Sandwich ftlong Can of full coke Cookie

1400 - Family Bag of Cheesits Chocolate Bar Energy Drink

1600 - Chips and Curry Can of Coke Haribo

2200 - Fried Chicken More coke, Chocolate Bar

(wow....i'm not even joking)

Now (changed shifts at work so i eat earlier rather than later)

0530 - Banana

0930 - Yogurt, Special K Bar

1230 - Ham Salad or Jacket Potato

1630 - Steamed Fish and Vegetables

1800 - Bean Salad

And the best thing is, so far i've had no sugar cravings. I think because i have a special K bar in the morning and they're quite sugary, it just gives me that 'fix'.

So, yeh, will hopefully see numbers drop.

If they do, i'll put some before's up.

Wow, good job so far! Just remember to keep track of calories. If you want to optimize your weight loss you need to count the calories in what you eat. Otherwise, even if you are eating healthier, you might go over your calorie limit and not find any results.

Also, what are those numbers beside your list of food? I'm confused o-o. I know it's not calories because I've never heard of a 530 Calorie Banana (unless you deep fry it and dip it in chocolate and caramel. But I highly doubt you do that).

Anyway, good luck!

The numbers are the time that i ate i.e 0530 five thirty in the morning, it just helps me keep track cos i know its not healthy to eat all your calories in one big meal. Unless its a deep fried chocolate banana, i might break the rules for that.

Day 21!!

Weigh - in at 11st 0 or 154 pounds, so 4lbs down from 8 days ago, not bad.

Gives me a total weight loss of about 12 pounds.

Day 29. Bad News, stayed the same at 11st. I kept to the diet, but the proper exercise was off cos of my working pattern.

Hey there,

You're doing well so far! Don't worry about the stagnation, just keep up the diet as it is and fit in exercise whenever you can to boost results! If you are looking after yourself and sticking to eating well, the weight WILL come off :)

Andie...

Day 31.

I've upped the exercise to stop this plateau. And today i weighed in at 10st 13 or 153lbs, so hopefully thats good news to it getting lower every week again.

Day 35

Things are really getting better now, i'm 10st 11, so another 2 pounds lost in the last 4 days. Making sure exercise is now an everyday part of my life, so hopefully the fat will continue to burn!
