My Diary :)

Well, I have recently moved much closer into the bay area. I've been here about two weeks so far. This community is very fitness and sport oriented. I found i really neat healthy restraint that makes turkey burgers, and cooks fries with air instead of grese. It sounds strange I know.
Im happy to say that I've lost 5 pounds since I moved here.
I also started school again. Its hard to walk around some times, people here are so thin compared to me. I feel like I'm a walking side show at times.
Maybe im just being mellow dramatic though...
I'm taking a fitness jogging class. On Friday she had us jog a mile and a half, then do 30 min of drills on the football field. Apparently that jog was just a bare minimum. After being sore all weekend my legs are feeling more capable.
The class is 2 hours long, 3 days a week. I know I will be losing a lot of weight this time.

first, welcome to forum Alicia :)

i know how you feel when you say you feel you're the walking sideshow. i also feel like that sometimes, but as i started changing my lifestyle i started to look at myself differently and feel less and less mellodramatic.

i seems like you started great. that jogging class is definitely going to sculp you :) i find writing what i eat here very helpful. i can't cheat :) so tell us what's your eating plan?

good luck, Lena

Ooooh! Check it out, you started off close to ONEderland ;)

It must be nice having that sort of environment around you, about the closest we get here are Asian Restaurants. Every few years a "Healthy Food" place will open up without making sure they have the money to stay open for a few years, so they go under, just as they start getting a clientele.

There's a couple of Baja Fresh type of places running around, but their food isn't much better for you than Taco Bell (if you order carefully).

Hello again.
Thank you lena and qjay for the support! :)

well its the beginning of a new week.
this past week i went to all my pe classes. On Wednesday and Friday we did a 2 and a half mile walk/job trail by the school.my partner and I came in at 48 min, then on Friday we tried to shave the time down and got in at 35 min. I have to keep in mind that this is not a race. I need to train smart and work at my level right now...
unfortunately to my horror i have gained 4 or 5 pounds. *sigh*
I cant wait to really start losing weight.

today for breakfast i had a reasonable bowl of maple shredded wheat with 1% milk, then I had a turkey burger, then i had some cold-stone ice cream (yeah I know) and for dinner I had a cup and a half of home made chicken noodle soup.

Have you tried taking measurements of yourself, or checking how your clothes fit differently? If you are exercising a lot, you could be adding muscle (like in your legs? :D ) from all that walking; that's definitely a good thing. I know the fat does not literally become muscle, but if you are "converting" fat weight into muscle weight, it would not surprise me in the least to see some pounds added, but they are GOOD ones.

The cold stone thing... well, it could always be worse :p
The rest of your day looks like it was healthy; maybe to should track what you are eating and the calorie counts for a few weeks, it will help you get a good idea where you are for a food plan.

Yeah, I hope its muscle. I'm not sure how much muscle one can gain in a week in a half though.

Its hard for me to lose weight, so i try to stay in the 1300 calorie range.
I took measurements before i started, and body fat. I'm around 34% -_- im 5'7

I'll start tracking what I eat.

If you're in a calorie deficit, you can't gain muscle. In order to build muscle you have to be bringing in more calories then you're burning.

You could be feeling stronger though :) That's always a good thing!
