I suppose this is a pretty good way of tracking progress so here I go...

21/05/06: 161lb

Breakfast: half boiled egg, half slice brown bread
Lunch: none
Tea: white pasta with home made sauce and two slices of garlic bread (bad me)
Supper: apple
Snacks: pear, fruit juice

Today has been not to bad though it started off a bit rubbishy. After seeking advice on here (and getting some good advice I must say) I decided to get up early and have a bit of breakfast before heading out to my grans (always go to grans house on a Sun).

Cooked a boiled egg and a slice of toast (brown bread), found I didn't really want to eat it so settled for half hte bread and half the egg plus a glass of fruit juice. OK could have been worse.

Even worse I get to my grans house and it's my aunties birthday so naturally everyone was scoffing birthday cake when I arrived. Decilned cake, biscuit and can of juice and sat with a glass of water instead - go me!

Went out for an hour walk and felt ok, had to get leaves for pet stick insects anyway.

Decided I wanted an eat treat so went across to the supermarket and bought loads of nice veg and made a great home made pasta sauce. For some reason I couldn't find the wholemeal pasta in the shop so I had to settle for white. Anyway tea consisted of a bowl of white pasta and my lovely sauce that I made (see recipe section) also two small pieces of garlic bread mum made.

I'm actually half thinking of going out another walk as I feel abit bloated after my tea but then I'm on my period too so that doesn't help! Will be eating fruit or raw veg if I eat anything else tonight.

Overall good day I suppose:)

I've set a target for loosing 7lb by three weeks time!

Actually I'm not overly fond of sweet stuff like cake and chocolate, savoury things like crisps and cheese are more my downfall.

I'm from Falkirk which is in central Scotland.:)

Oh well that's me ready to go to bed, I did indeed only have an apple along with a glass of water for my supper so I'm not going to sleep with loads of rubbish inside me which makes a change. Overall it's been a pretty good day aside from my slip up regarding the two slices of garlic bread at tea time (what the heck I suppose it could be worse). Since Friday I've been trying to eat better and since then I have only had...

1 can fizzy juice
1 packet of low fat crisps

when previously I'd be eating 2-3 of the above items a day. I'm happy that I'm not missing them much and instead have been looking for snacks that I enjoy the same but won't be clogging my arteries as much. Pink lady apples are my current favourite along with raw carrot which I've always liked. I've found lots of great ideas on this forum and hopefully people will be able to pick something up from my experiences too.

I've arranged to make myself quite busy tomorrow so my plan is as follows...

morning: gym
afternoon: up town to sort some things out at the bank
tea time: tidy room, clean some of my animals out
8.30pm collect my gran from her dancing class (maybe I should join her next time).

Hopefully that means that I won't have much time for eating anyway but I'm going to make sure I have a decent breakfast before heading to the gym at 10am.

Oh well I did indeed get up early ans am currently munching on a bowl of cereal before I go to the gym.

I weighted myself this morning and found I'm 2.5lb lighter but then the last time I weighed myself I was 161 and this was at tea time so that probably explains it. Still hoping to be down to 154 within the next three weeks. Anyway I'll get away to the gym now and update this when I'm on the computer at night.:)

Thank you for your kind comments, I'm just back from the gym so just about to head for a shower before heading up town. I though loosing half astone in three weeks wasn't too bad, think it goes ok with the 1-2 lb a week rule. Thing is that I've made such drastic changes to my diet that I seem to be loosing a bit more than I thought I would.

Yes Irn bru is a fantastic drink. The full fat stuff is a bit sickening but the diet stuff is nicely refreshing though I'm trying to cut down on fizzy drinks a bit.

My day looks like so...

22/05/06

Breakfast: 1 small bowl muesli, skimmed milk
Lunch: Small baked potato, small portion of baked beans
Tea: Home made chicken and veg curry, brown rice
Supper: slice toasted brown bread, low fat cheese spread
Snacks: Fruit & cereal bar (61 cal), pear

Exercise: 1 hour gym session (420cal) 30 min walk around town
Fizzy juice: none (yay)
Water: 3 glasses, 3 x 500ml bottles
Fruit and veg portions: 4

Today started off really well, I got up reasonably early and had a nice healthy bowl of muesli which, I'll be honest, was horrible. Made a mental note to look out cereal I actually like.

Went to the gym and arrived there at 10.30am burned 50cal on the bike, 50 on the cross trainer and 100 on the rowing machine. On the treadmill I initially burned 100 but wanted to try my hand at running so I ran a mile in about 12mins which burned up 120cal. That brought me to the grand total of 420cal altogether which is quite good for me though probably laughable to some (got to start somewhere I guess).

Came home and had a pounding headache so had my lunch of a baked potato and baked beans (was famished by this time) and then headed up town. Wandered around for 30mins then went into supermarket on way home an found some really nice cereal bars which are only 61cals each. My mum had brought me back in some brown rice so I decided to make chicken and veg curry for tea and try a bit of that. Tea turned out OK but for some reason by this time I was shattered, I didn't want to go lie down after eating tea so I tidied my room up instead then went to collect my gran from her dancing.

And here I am all set for tomorrow! I'll be at work tomorrow and also have a fish tank to clean out so that should keep me busy!:)

Well today has started off very healthily, had a cereal bar for breakfast and a pear so that was good even if the aftermath was not so healthy.

As I'm not used to eating breakfast I felt a wee bit sick so had a bath at around 10am which made me feel better and woke me up a bit.

After I'd gotten changed I cleaned a few of my animals out as it's nice outside, got two tarantula cages done along with my giant millipedes and my imperial scorpion.

For lunch I've only had a medium portion of soup (one of those tins of weight watcher stuff) and a slice of brown bread but it's really filled me up somehow and now I feel a bit bloated.

I'll be heading out to work in an hour or so so I'll update my diary again at night when I'll all done for the day.:)

EDIT: By the way I'm sorry I post on this thread so much, I don't want to shove other peoples diarys off the page but I'm finding the diary is really helping me stay focused.

Breakfast: Fruit & cereal bar, pear
Lunch: weight watchers can of tomato soup, one slice brown bread
Tea: tortellini pasta with home made red pepper sauce, two slices garlic bread
Supper: pear,
Snacks: low fat yogurt
Exercise: 1 hour walk
Fizzy juice: none
Water: 5 glasses, 1 500ml bottle
Fruit and veg portions: 5

Oh well today did not pan out as well as I'd hoped at all.

Once I got home from work I discovered my dad had made me tea which wasn't anything like what I'd planned. Wound up having tortellini pasta with home made red pepper sauce and a couple of slices of garlic bread. Felt fine but as it was raining I couldnt get out for my walk. Mum and dad suggested we go to the pictures instead as the weather was bad. I thought what the heck I did a good gym session yesterday and also will be going to the gym and swimming tomorrow.

However part way through the film I started to feel sick again and wound up coming home and having a cup of tea. I doubt if I'll manage to eat anything else tonight and I've got a horrible feeling my tea might make a re-appearence later on.:(

You are doing such a great job so far. Keep it up. Don't lose focus. But hey you deserve to have a free day. Sorry it made you feel sick :( Hope you are feeling better. have an awesome day and drink your WATER:D

Oh well I feel a lot better this morning and am a pound lighter on the scales again so that's nice!:)

I'm going out with my friend today for most of the day so I've got a feeling we'll be going out for lunch too. This isn't such a bad thing as I'll be heading to the gym and swimming tonight so it'll be big lunch and small tea for me today. Have already had a breakfast of low fat yougurt, fruit and cereal bar and a pear so a good start at least. I'm not sure where me and my friend are headed but usually we wind up having a good old wander so that'll be goodfor me. :D

Have fun haning out with your friend! 61calorie cereal bars?! Wow, jealous, the lowest I can find is 90 :)
Have a great day, keep up the workouts, it'll make such a difference in everything for you!!

Thanks again!:)

These cereal bar things are really nice. I always hated cereal bars because I found them a bit tasteless but these ones are very fruity and nice. It did say on the packet that they were a new product right enough!

Breakfast: Fruit & cereal bar, pear
Lunch: baked potato, salad, tuna
Tea: grilled chicken breast with sweet corn and mixed veg
Supper: 1 tortilla wrap with small portion of curried veg and chicken, banana
Snacks: magnum ice cream lolly (291)
Exercise: 1.5 hour walk, 1hr 10min swim session (64 lengths), gym session (300cal)
Fizzy juice: none
Water: 3 glasses, 2 500ml bottle
Fruit and veg portions: 5

Oh well today went well from an exercise point of view in fact I'm worried I perhaps over did it! My day started off well and after having a breakfast bar and a pear I headed off to the highlands with my friend to visit a wildlife park.

The pak was quite big and as it was set in the highlands it was shall we say "uneven". We spent the late morning and afternoon trecking about in this place and as I was due to do a lot of exercise that night I decided to have a baked potato, tuna, salad and cloeslaw at the cafe. Afterwards I got an ice cream bar which was 291 cals apparently. There's a few of my favourite photos at the end of this post.

At night I had some grilled chicken with sweet corn and other mixed veg (carrot, green bean and peas) with a bit of mango chutney.

I went to the gym at about 7pm and mostly worked the weights though I burned 300cal on the cardio machines.

After the gym I went to loosen up in the pool as I knew I'd ache tomorrow if I didn't however I seemed to be on a bit of a roll and managed 64 lengths without getting too knackered. Not sure how big everyone's local pools are but I was told that 64 lengths is a mile in our pool so I was pleased with that obviously.

Problem is I think I may have overdone it a bit today so I ate a tortilla wrap with some curried chicken and veg when I got back along with a banana. Hopefully all will go OK tomorrow as I plan to have my main meal at lunch time (I work 5pm-8pm on Thursdays).

Well this morning I'm 1/5 a pound heavier on the scales so something went slightly wrong yesterday, possibly the ice cream or the tortilla wrap I had about an hour before going to bed. Anyway I'm down to 157.5lb now so that's 3.5lb lost and to be honest I was starting to worry if perhaps the weight was coming off to fast yesterday so I'm not overly concerned. I'm just about to plan what I'm going to eat today but I'm going to have difficulty in getting a lot of excercise done as I'm working today.:(
