First up thank you to Cate for finding me god knows how long ago over on the Cohens section.
How much weight do you want to lose?
A whopping 52.6kgs
What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?
12 Months
How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?
Cohens Lifestyle Clinic
Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?
First of all me. I have to be my biggest supporter, family, this community.
How realistic is your goal?
Totally, it's been proven.
When will you start?
Did start went strong for 5 months and lost 37kgs. Lost the plot for 4 months and regained 14.2kgs. Started afresh Monday and am down 2.6kgs.
What is your current height and weight?
173cm 114.6kgs
If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be?
62 kgs.
At what weight would you like to be at four months from now?
95kgs
Why do you want to lose weight?
Honestly? At this point a lot for someone else. The rest for me. To have the benefits everyone wants. Feel good look great. Be able to wear what I like, you know, all those things. I need it to be 100% for me though and that's what I'm working on. There will be more on this question in my diary over the next 12 months for sure.
Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event?
I'm going to a rock concert in January and want to have lost some for that. Other than that nothing specific other than wanting to do all the things I put off. Wanting to really live my life.
What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals?
Many. But the main one being a rebellious attitude which pops up when I deal with too much emotional stress and start thinking like this: "Grr!! So many people use drugs and alcohol to escape stress and fall back on. I am tired of digging deep and relying on my own strength. Poor me!! I am so hard done by. Now I can't eat even certain legitimate foods" I know what I am doing when I am being like this. Feeling stupidly sorry for myself.
Why do you think that you now have a weight problem?
Low self esteem
What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight?
Being more active, the rest is all in my head
Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight?
Yes! Exactly what I'm going to do this time.
Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back?
The way I talk to myself, self esteem, not feeling worthy as a person etc etc etc
What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Why do you think it did not work?
Hmmmm not sure about this one.
Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time?
I would keep that up my sleeve for another tool to implement when the going gets tough and I need to refocus.
Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook?
Yes, clean lean mean Cohens style
How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go?
Rarely, if I'm out its byo.
What are your three favorite foods?
Too hard to narrow down honestly. Depends on my mood - funny that!!
What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food?
Try new recipes, try new methods of cooking, remind myself that food is not a reward, it's fuel and I want my body fuelled in the most efficient way.
If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different?
I would feel a lot better about myself. It would possibly help me to make a decision regarding a highly emotionally charged situation (I am currently punching beneath my weight - long story) I would do things that I really want to that I am putting off.
Do you eat when you are not hungry?
I have been known to.
Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)?
On occasion.
Do you hide your food or eat in secret?
On very rare occasions.
Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed? Do you eat as a reward? Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer?
Yes yes and yes!!
What do you normally eat for a meal?
Meat (red, chicken, seafood) veggies or salad. On bad days pretty much anything goes.
What type of snacks do you eat?
Tend to prefer sweeter things but love cheese and wine etc.
In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing?
Walking - up to 2 hours a day as often as I can.
Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home?
Outside currently.
What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise?
Cross circuit, weights, walking/running, swimming. Okay more than 3 and I am only doing 1 at the moment. I want to do the others when I am a bit lighter. I have done them at obese weights and I know its not the best way for me to go.
What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals?
How hard is this one? I'm very visual. I love quotes and I love pics. They keep me focused on why and where I could be and why not to give up.
Do you have rewards for certain goals?
No, I have always found this a hard one. I need to work on it.
Okay thats that done. It shares a bit about me, and gives me something to refer back to. I know posting here regularly is going to be an important part of this process. I will vent, rant, analyse, celebrate etc etc. I need this as an outlet, as a forum for support and feedback, and as tangible evidence of how far I have come not just physically, I have a mirror for that. But emotionally and mentally - yep those 2 tough ones ;-)
If anyone took the time to read all that well thank you very much. I look forward to visiting diaries and getting know some awesome people. I want to inspire and be inspired. Here's to the 12 awesome life changing months ahead.
